Mick Maddex vs Peter Pherson

Boxing Daily Report from the AI New Zealand-Wellington promoted show at Wellington Angus, Wellington,  taking place on 22/02/2032:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the New Zealand-Wellington Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Mick Maddex (19 - 8(4)) who hails from Wellington, New Zealand and Peter Pherson(15(4) - 5(1)) from Wellington, New Zealand.  Both Maddex and Pherson weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Paul Redhead, and the three ringside judges are Denton Rattray, Glynn Morgan and Barry Ramage.  

Round 1: 

Pherson steps inside.  Maddex is on target with a right hook.  Pherson holds on to his opponent.  Pherson uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Maddex's kidney. 
Maddex tries to keep the action at long range.  Pherson tries to land a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Pherson is looking to close the distance and lands a left hook.  
Pherson is looking to close the distance.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Pherson dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Pherson hits home with a right hook.  
Maddex tries to keep the action at long range and lands an overhand right followed by a cross to his opponents head.  
Pherson attempts to land a left hook, but Maddex parries the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Pherson feints a jab, but Maddex ignores the feint and is on target with a cross.  
Pherson is looking to close the distance and lands a right hook to the body, a left hook to the head and a right uppercut to the head.  
Pherson lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Pherson lands three consecutive left hooks to his opponents ribs.  Pherson attempts to land a left uppercut, but Maddex blocks the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Pherson cuts off the ring, trapping Maddex in a neutral corner.  Pherson lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Pherson sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  He then lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Pherson steps inside and is on target with a right hook.  
Pherson lands a right uppercut to the head, a left uppercut to the body and a left hook to the head.  
Pherson quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and digs in a firm right hook to his opponents body.  
Maddex throws a left uppercut, but Pherson clinches his opponent.  Pherson is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. Pherson throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. 
Maddex tries to land a cross, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a firm left hook.  
Pherson steps inside and attempts to land a left hook, but Maddex slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Maddex's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.  Maddex's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

Maddex tries to keep the action at long range.  Maddex feints a jab, and then attempts to land an overhand right, but Pherson slips the shot and counters with a stinging cross.

Pherson lands a left uppercut, right hook and a left hook to his opponents head.  
Pherson is on target with a sharp right hook.  
Maddex switches the action to the outside and lands a straight 1 - 2.

Pherson manouvers his opponent into the corner.  Pherson sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Maddex lands a right hook.  
Maddex steps away from his opponent and lands an overhand left.  
Pherson gets on the inside and walks Maddex down, trapping him in a corner.  Pherson lands a right hook to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.  
Maddex hits home with a left hook.  
Pherson lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Maddex switches the action to the outside.  Pherson throws a cross, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Pherson lands a right hook followed by  two left hooks to his opponents head.

Pherson is looking to close the distance and forces Maddex to retreat onto the ropes.  Pherson lands two right hooks followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  Maddex recovers before his opponent can take advantage.

Pherson quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and SLAMS a FIERCE right hook into his opponents face.  IT LOOKS LIKE MADDEX WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  Maddex quickly recovers. 
Pherson lands a double right hook to his opponents head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Maddex recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Pherson lands a jab followed by  two straights to his opponents head.  
Pherson connects with a left hook.  
Pherson is looking to close the distance and manouvers his opponent into the corner.  Maddex lands a left hook to the head, a left hook to the body and a right hook to the head.  
Pherson lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  
Pherson steps inside and is on target with a solid left uppercut.  
Maddex backs onto the ropes...he is waving his opponent in!  Pherson tries to tag Maddex on the ropes, but his opponent blocks every shot!  Pherson lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  
Pherson lands three consecutive right hooks to his opponents ribs, AND SENDS MADDEX TO THE CANVAS!  He isnt going to beat the count!  The winner by KO is Pherson!
