Owen Newell vs Ed McAlinden

Boxing Daily Report from the Ililonga Promotions promoted show at Jim Glen Gym, Green Bay,  taking place on 31/01/2032:

Clearly Ililonga Promotions have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the USA-Wisconsin Super Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Owen Newell (11 - 13(2) - 3) who hails from Madison, USA and Ed McAlinden(7 - 26(1) - 6) from Milwaukee, USA.  Newell weighed in at 154 pounds, while McAlinden weighed in at 154 pounds And 12 ounces.    As McAlinden came in over the weight limit, only his opponent will be able to compete for the final eliminator position tonight.  
The referee tonight is Zach McCrae, and the three ringside judges are Michael Yeamans, Chris Bobet and John McCleary.  

Round 1: 

McAlinden hits home with an overhand right.  
Newell is looking to keep his distance and lands an overhand left followed by a cross to his opponents head.  
McAlinden forces Newell to back into the corner.  As Newell tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as McAlinden dabs at his face checking for damage.

Newell lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.
