Callum Hew vs Dale Hopes

Boxing Daily Report from the JSW promoted show at Festival Hall, Melbourne,  taking place on 17/05/2032:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Callum Hew (6(4) - 0) who hails from Sunshine Coast, Australia and Dale Hopes(0 - 4(1)) from Melbourne, Australia.  Hew weighed in at 233 pounds and 11 ounces, while Hopes weighed in at 243 pounds and 7 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Ian Suit, and the three ringside judges are Aaron Hilling, Dale Holland and Sean Desmond.  

Round 1: 

Hew is on target with a jab.

Hopes attempts to land a cross, but Hew blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Hopes advances into close range.  Hew drives a left hook into Hopes's ribs.  
Hopes closes the distance.  Hew lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body, AND HOPES IS DOWN!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 4.  Hopes quickly recovers. 
Hopes closes the distance and throws a right hook, but Hew clinches his opponent.  Hew is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Hew steps away from his opponent and lands an overhand left followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Hopes steps inside.  Hew whips in a hurtful right hook to his opponents body.  IT LOOKS LIKE HOPES WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  Hopes quickly recovers. 
Hew lands a jab, overhand right and a jab to his opponents head.  
Hew tries to keep the action at long range and lands a jab to the body followed by a overhand right to the head.  
Hew lands an overhand left followed by  two straights to his opponents head.  
Hopes closes the distance.  Hew digs in a right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Hew is on target with a left hook to Hopes's ribs.  
Hew tries to step out of his opponents range and hits home with a solid cross.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Hew's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Hopes's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.  Hopes's trainer is telling his fighter to tighten his defence.

Hopes steps inside.  Hew throws a left uppercut, but his opponent parries the shot.  Hew ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Hew pushes his forearm into Hopes's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Hew.  
Hew is looking to keep his distance and lands a hard jab.  
Hew lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Hew is looking to keep his distance and lands a jab to the body followed by a overhand left to the head.  
Hew lands a cross followed by  two overhand rights to his opponents head.  
Hopes closes the distance.  Hew lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  He follows up the attack and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Hew lands a jab to the body followed by a cross to the head.  
Hopes forces Hew to back into the ropes.  Hew digs in a right hook to Hopes's ribcage.

Hew tries to keep the action at long range.  Hew feints a right hook, and then lands a ramrod jab.

Hopes manouvers Hew onto the ropes.  Hew lands a left hook followed by a cross to his opponents head.  He follows up the attack and lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Hopes gets on the inside.  Hopes sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Hopes tries to land a right hook, but Hew sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Hew lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  Hew ties up his opponent.  Hew is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref separates the two fighters.  As Hopes tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Hew dabs at his face checking for damage.
