Leonardo Encinas vs Rodrigo Godinez

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Mexico-Nuevo Leon promoted show at Guadalupe Parras, Guadalupe,  taking place on 04/05/2032:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Mexico Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on TVC Deportes, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Leonardo Encinas (20(6) - 8(1)) who hails from Tijuana, Mexico and Rodrigo Godinez(27(16) - 3(3)) from Ciudad Apodaca, Mexico.  Encinas weighed in at 135 pounds and 9 ounces, while Godinez weighed in at 135 pounds.    As Encinas came in over the weight limit, only his opponent will be able to compete for the final eliminator position tonight.  
The referee tonight is Joaquin Andino, and the three ringside judges are Rodrigo Salamanca, Edmundo Cruz and Cortez Gloria.  

Round 1: 

Encinas steps inside and throws a left hook, but Godinez ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Encinas pushes his forearm into Godinez's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Encinas about fouling.  
Godinez feints a cross, and then lands a straight 1 - 2, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  Encinas recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Godinez pivots to the side of his opponent and connects with a cross.  
Godinez manouvers Encinas onto the ropes.  Godinez pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Godinez hits the target with a spiteful jab.  
Encinas advances into close range.  Godinez pivots to the right of his opponent.  Godinez throws a right uppercut, but his opponent slips the punch.  Godinez holds on to his opponent.  Encinas is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Godinez throws a cross, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a sharp left hook.  
Godinez sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Godinez attempts to land a jab, but Encinas blocks the shot and counters with a solid left uppercut.  
Godinez forces Encinas to retreat into a neutral corner.  Godinez lands three consecutive straights to his opponents head.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  Encinas quickly recovers. 
Encinas is on target with a solid cross.  
Encinas advances into close range.  Godinez sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Encinas digs in a left uppercut to Godinez's ribs.  Encinas tries to land a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.

Encinas hits home with a firm left hook.  
Godinez pivots from in front of his opponent.  Encinas throws a left uppercut, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Encinas is looking to close the distance and digs in a right hook to his opponents body.  
Encinas digs in a left uppercut to his opponents body.  Godinez holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Godinez pushes his forearm into Encinas's face.  The referee warns Godinez and breaks the clinch.  
Godinez throws a right uppercut, but the shot is blocked.  Godinez holds on to his opponent.  Godinez leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Encinas walks his opponent down, trapping him on the ropes.  Godinez digs in a stinging left hook to his opponents body.  
Godinez steps to the outside and lands an overhand left followed by a cross to his opponents head.  
Encinas gets on the inside.  Encinas quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Godinez lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a right hook to the head.

Godinez manouvers his opponent into a neutral corner.  Encinas connects with a sharp cross.  
Encinas throws a cross, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut.  
Encinas walks Godinez onto the ropes.  Encinas throws a right hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left hook to Encinas's body.

Encinas steps inside.  Encinas could be stopped here, if Godinez can find the right shot!  Godinez lands a FEROCIOUS right uppercut.  ENCINAS HAS BEEN KNOCKED DOWN!  HE IS STILL STRUGGLING TO HIS FEET AS THE COUNT REACHES 10!  The winner by KO is Godinez!
