Richard Birrell vs Gervasio Cantara

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Jamaica-Saint Catherine promoted show at Royal Lakes Complex, Spanish Town,  taking place on 12/06/2032:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the North American Flyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on SportsMax, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Richard Birrell (27(13) - 1) who hails from Spanish Town, Jamaica and Gervasio Cantara(29(10) - 2(2) - 1) from Juarez, Mexico.  Both Birrell and Cantara weighed in at 112 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Felix Bellin, and the three ringside judges are Shaun Mickle, Barry Pryce and Spencer Clanahan.  

Round 1: 

Cantara closes the distance.  Birrell sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Birrell drives a sharp right hook into his opponents body.  Birrell tries to land a left hook, but Cantara dodges the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Birrell tries to keep the action at long range and hits home with a cross.  Birrell tries to land a cross, but Cantara blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Birrell steps to the outside and connects with a solid cross.  
Birrell connects with a firm overhand left.  
Cantara is looking to close the distance.  Birrell whips in a spiteful left uppercut to his opponents body.  CANTARA WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  
Birrell tries to keep the action at long range.  Birrell is looking to put the pressure on now...he knows a few clean shots could mean an early night.  Birrell lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body.  He then lands a left uppercut, right uppercut and a right hook to his opponents body, AND SENDS CANTARA SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 4.  Cantara now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.  
Cantara advances into close range and manages to force Birrell onto the ropes.  Cantara pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a left uppercut to the body, a left hook to the head and a right hook to the body.  
Birrell switches the action to the outside and strikes his opponents body with a jab.  
Birrell throws an overhand right, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut.  
Cantara sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Birrell is on target with a firm cross.  
Cantara gets on the inside.  Birrell lands a double left hook to his opponents head, AND CANTARA IS DOWN!  He manages to get up at 4.  
Birrell tries to step out of his opponents range.  Birrell sees his opponent is hurt.  He's looking for the finish!  Birrell is on target with a mean right hook.  CANTARA IS DOWN!  He manages to get up at 8.  It looks like Cantara has now recovered from that shot earlier.  
Cantara connects with a cross.  
Cantara is on target with a left hook.  
Birrell sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Cantara tries to land a left hook, but Birrell sidesteps and counters with a FIERCE cross.  CANTARA WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  Cantara recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Birrell hits home with a left uppercut.  
Cantara forces Birrell to back into the ropes.  Cantara pivots to the right of his opponent and is on target with a right hook to his opponents body.  
Birrell is on target with a left uppercut.  
Birrell is looking to keep his distance and lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Birrell attempts to land a jab, but Cantara dodges the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Birrell lands a jab followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Cantara gets on the inside and cuts off the ring, trapping Birrell on the ropes.  Birrell hits home with a stinging right hook.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Birrell's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Cantara's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.

Birrell lands a SAVAGE overhand right.  IT LOOKS LIKE CANTARA WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  Cantara almost instantly gets his legs back.

Cantara tries to land a right hook, but Birrell blocks the shot and counters with a weighty left uppercut.  IT LOOKS LIKE CANTARA WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  
Birrell is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Birrell senses Cantara is in trouble...he is looking to finish him off!  Birrell lands a right uppercut, cross and a right uppercut to his opponents head, KNOCKING CANTARA DOWN!  He is still struggling to his feet as the count reaches 10!  The winner by KO is Birrell!
