Hayden Gilbride vs Brendan Alcorn

Boxing Daily Report from the Payakaroon Boxing Entertainment promoted show at Festival Hall, Melbourne,  taking place on 23/07/2032:

Clearly Payakaroon Boxing Entertainment have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Hayden Gilbride (11(6) - 3) who hails from Brisbane, Australia and Brendan Alcorn(8 - 0) from Adelaide, Australia.  Both Gilbride and Alcorn weighed in at 108 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Ashley Steuart, and the three ringside judges are Michael Donn, Paul Raeburn and Gus Mow.  

Round 1: 

Alcorn gets on the inside.  Gilbride lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  Gilbride ties up his opponent.  Alcorn pushes his forearm into Gilbride's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Alcorn to stop fouling.  
Gilbride switches the action to the outside.  Alcorn lands a jab.  
Alcorn hits home with a cross.

Alcorn steps inside and manages to force Gilbride onto the ropes.  Gilbride is on target with a sharp right hook to his opponents body.

Alcorn steps inside and walks his opponent down, trapping him on the ropes.  Alcorn pivots to the left of his opponent.  Alcorn connects with a left uppercut.  Alcorn attempts to land a left uppercut, but Gilbride slips the shot and counters with a firm cross.  
Gilbride digs in a sharp left uppercut to Alcorn's body.  
Gilbride is on target with a cross.  Gilbride throws an overhand right, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Gilbride lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.

Alcorn is looking to close the distance and cuts off the ring, trapping Gilbride in a corner.  Alcorn throws a left uppercut, but Gilbride clinches his opponent.  Alcorn leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.
