Merrel Mauritz vs Montrose Malot

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Germany-Baden-Wurttemberg promoted show at Jarmann Johnsen Gym, Freiburg,  taking place on 23/05/2021:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on SPORT1, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Merrel Mauritz (8 - 0) who hails from Mannheim, Germany and Montrose Malot(9(2) - 0) from Villeurbanne, France.  Both Mauritz and Malot weighed in at 200 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Lothair Manhardt, and the three ringside judges are Wilfredo Bieneman, Arnell Schakel and Ludvig Kronenberg.  

Round 1: 

Malot lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Mauritz is on target with a cross.  Mauritz tries to land a cross, but Malot blocks the shot and counters with a stinging right hook.
