Peter Harp vs James Laforgia

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Australia-New South Wales promoted show at University of Newcastle Sports Hall, Newcastle,  taking place on 12/08/2032:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on WIN, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Peter Harp (23(19) - 0 - 1) who hails from Melbourne, Australia and James Laforgia(0 - 3 - 2) from Perth, Australia.  Both Harp and Laforgia weighed in at 130 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Hugh MacMaster, and the three ringside judges are Peter Takes, Nick Eade and Cody Broadley.  

Round 1: 

Laforgia sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Harp is on target with a left hook to Laforgia's body.

Harp lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  Harp holds on to his opponent.  Harp leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. Harp uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Laforgia behind the head. As they grapple, Harp pushes his forearm into Laforgia's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Harp.  
Harp walks his opponent down, trapping him in a corner.  Harp lands a stinging left uppercut.  
Harp lands a left uppercut to the body, and then to the head.  Harp holds on to his opponent.  Harp leans on his opponent using all his weight. Harp tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Laforgia behind the head. The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Harp about fouling.

Harp quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a left hook to the head, a right uppercut to the body and a left hook to the body.

Harp lands a jab to the head, a left hook to the body and a cross to the head.  
Harp closes the distance and hits home with a right hook.  
Laforgia throws a left hook, but Harp clinches his opponent.  Harp leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Harp walks his opponent down, trapping him in a neutral corner.  Harp digs in a left uppercut to his opponents body.

Harp quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a left hook to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.  He then lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.

The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  Laforgia quickly recovers. 
Harp lands two right hooks to the body, and one to the head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Laforgia recovers before his opponent can take advantage.

Harp advances into close range and digs in a left hook to his opponents liver.  Harp ties up his opponent.  Harp is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Laforgia's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.  Laforgia's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.  Laforgia's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Harp has come off worse after that clash of heads.  That has caused slight swelling  around the left eye.  
Laforgia tries to step out of his opponents range.  Laforgia sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Laforgia throws a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a firm cross.  
Harp is looking to close the distance and digs in a left hook to Laforgia's body.  Harp ties up his opponent.  Harp leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks Harp's hold and signals for the fight to continue.
