Hugh Southerland vs Dominic Carrick

Boxing Daily Report from the JSW promoted show at Circus Circus Casino & Hotel, Las Vegas,  taking place on 04/10/2032:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Hugh Southerland (12(8) - 0) who hails from Rochester, USA and Dominic Carrick(4 - 3) from San Francisco, USA.  Both Southerland and Carrick weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Chris Cadwallader, and the three ringside judges are Dave Farquharson, Ellis Slight and Waqar Othman.  

Round 1: 

Southerland tries to keep the action at long range.  Southerland feints a right hook, and then lands a jab, overhand right and a cross to his opponents head.  
Carrick gets on the inside and throws a right hook, but Southerland clinches his opponent.  Southerland pushes his forearm into Carrick's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Southerland about fouling.  
Southerland hits home with a solid cross.  
Southerland lands a jab to the body, and then to the head.  He follows up the attack and lands an overhand right followed by  two jabs to his opponents head.  
Southerland is on target with a WICKED overhand right.  CARRICK IS HURT!  Carrick recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Southerland is looking to keep his distance.  Southerland feints a cross, tricking Carrick into launching a cross counter.  Southerland avoids the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Southerland lands a cross to the body followed by a jab to the head.  
Southerland tries to step out of his opponents range and lands a sharp cross to Carrick's body.  
Southerland lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Southerland is looking to keep the action on the outside and lands an overhand right, cross and an overhand right to his opponents head.

Carrick tries to land a cross, but Southerland slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Southerland hits home with a cross.  
Carrick is looking to close the distance and manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  Carrick pivots to the right of his opponent.  Carrick throws a right hook, but Southerland ties up his opponent.  Southerland uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Carrick behind the head. The referee warns Southerland and breaks the clinch.  
Southerland feints a jab, and then lands an overhand right followed by a cross to his opponents head.  He continues the combination and lands an overhand right followed by a jab to his opponents head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Carrick quickly recovers. 
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Carrick's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.  Carrick's trainer is telling his fighter to tighten his defence.

Southerland lands a jab to the body, and then to the head.  He then lands two consecutive overhand rights to his opponents head.  
Carrick gets on the inside.  Southerland lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  Southerland clinches his opponent.  Southerland leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks Southerland's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Southerland lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Southerland steps to the outside and lands two straights to the body, and one to the head.  
Southerland lands a cross followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  He follows up the attack and lands a straight 1 - 2.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  Carrick almost instantly gets his legs back. 
Southerland steps away from his opponent.  Southerland sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a jab followed by a overhand right to his opponents head.  
Southerland lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head, AND DROPS CARRICK!  He is back up on his feet at 4.  
Southerland is looking to keep his distance.  Southerland thinks he can end the show early....he's looking to put Carrick away.  Southerland lands two consecutive right uppercuts to his opponents head.  He then lands two straights followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head, AND CARRICK IS KNOCKED DOWN!  He manages to get up at 4.  It looks like Carrick has now recovered from that shot earlier.

Southerland hits home with a sharp overhand right.  
Southerland feints a jab, fooling Carrick into launching a cross counter.  Southerland springs the trap, countering with  a FEARSOME right hook.  CARRICK IS SENT SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  HE ISNT GOING TO BEAT THE COUNT!  The winner by KO is Southerland!
