Asif Tariq vs Andy Mero

Boxing Daily Report from the AI USA-Arizona promoted show at Madison Event Center, Phoenix,  taking place on 23/10/2032:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a mandatory fight for the USA-Arizona Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Fight Now TV, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Asif Tariq (9 - 15(1) - 5) who hails from Phoenix, USA and Andy Mero(13 - 9 - 1) from Mesa, USA.  Both Tariq and Mero weighed in at 135 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Ashley Walls, and the three ringside judges are Malcolm Gwynn, Mick Kimmick and Neil Casiano.  

Round 1: 

Tariq advances into close range and walks Mero down, trapping him on the ropes.  Tariq is on target with a right hook to Mero's ribs.  Mero clinches his opponent.  Tariq tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Mero's kidney. The ref separates the two fighters.

Tariq is looking to close the distance and throws a left hook, but Mero ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Tariq pushes his forearm into Mero's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Tariq lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Mero finds the target with a jab.
