Jose Pequeno vs Santiago Socarras

Boxing Daily Report from the Los Moreco Promotions promoted show at Estadio Maracana, Panama City,  taking place on 22/12/2032:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Central American Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on NEXtv, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Jose Pequeno (14(13) - 1(1)) who hails from Panama City, Panama and Santiago Socarras(16(4) - 2) from Guatemala City, Guatemala.  Pequeno weighed in at 146 pounds and 10 ounces, while Socarras weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Manuel Gutierres, and the three ringside judges are Neron Pasqual, Diego Caudillo and Santiago Trigo.  

Round 1: 

Pequeno lands a left uppercut, cross and a left uppercut to his opponents head.

Socarras is looking to close the distance and manages to force Pequeno onto the ropes.  Socarras goes for the bodyshot, but lands south of the border!  The ref stops the action and gives Pequeno time to recover.  
Pequeno is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Socarras stands off with low guard waiting for his opponent to launch an attack.  Pequeno attempts to land a jab, but Socarras sidesteps and counters with a stinging left uppercut.
