John Quigg vs Mark Goudey

Boxing Daily Report from the Montreal's Top Gym promoted show at Colisee de Quebec, Quebec City,  taking place on 26/02/2033:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are John Quigg (6(1) - 0) who hails from Saskatoon, Canada and Mark Goudey(12 - 18(3) - 4) from Winnipeg, Canada.  Quigg weighed in at 126 pounds, while Goudey weighed in at 125 pounds and 3 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Louis Marvingt, and the three ringside judges are Gerard Segalen, Mark Mostyn and Ferrand Pradon.  

Round 1: 

Quigg closes the distance and lands a left hook.  Quigg holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Quigg pushes his forearm into Goudey's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Quigg.  
Quigg lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  He continues the combination and lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Goudey recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Quigg pivots to the side of his opponent.  Quigg lands a left hook to the body followed by a left uppercut to the head.  Quigg ties up his opponent.  Quigg leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks Quigg's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Quigg connects with a left hook.  Quigg ties up his opponent.  Quigg is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Quigg gets on the inside and forces Goudey to back into the ropes.  Quigg tries to land a left hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left hook.  
Quigg lands a right hook to the head followed by a right uppercut to the body.  
Quigg lands a left uppercut followed by  two left hooks to his opponents head.  
Quigg feints a jab, fooling Goudey into throwing a right hook counter.  Quigg avoids the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Quigg is on target with a left hook to Goudey's body.  
Quigg closes the distance and hits home with a left hook.  
Quigg steps inside and drives a solid left hook into Goudey's ribs.  
Quigg steps inside and is on target with a left hook to his opponents ribs.  Quigg holds on to his opponent.  Quigg tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Goudey behind the head. The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Quigg about fouling.

Goudey steps away from his opponent.  Quigg finds the target with a jab.

At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Goudey's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Goudey's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.

Quigg advances into close range and whips in a mean left hook to Goudey's liver.  GOUDEY IS DOWN!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 4.

Quigg lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Quigg forces Goudey to back into a corner.  Quigg connects with a firm right uppercut.  
Quigg pivots to the side of his opponent and hits home with a left hook.

Quigg lands a right hook to the body, a right hook to the head and a left hook to the body, AND DROPS GOUDEY!  He beats the count, getting up at 4.  
Quigg lands a right hook, left hook and a right hook to his opponents body.  He then lands a left hook to the head, a cross to the head and a right uppercut to the body, AND GOUDEY IS KNOCKED DOWN!  The ref waves off the fight.  He does not believe Goudey can continue!  The fight has been stopped!  The winner by TKO is Quigg!
