Brett Steel vs Alejandro Mero

Boxing Daily Report from the Smokin Joe promoted show at AT&T Park, San Francisco,  taking place on 04/05/2033:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Cold Brett Steel (39(24) - 4 - 2) who hails from Santa Clarita, USA and Alejandro Mero(17(2) - 4(2)) from Monterrey, Mexico.  Both Steel and Mero weighed in at 115 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Davie Keir, and the three ringside judges are Kiki Aybar, Ian Pitcairn and Brin Howden.  

Round 1: 

Mero tries to keep the action at long range.  Steel is on target with a solid cross.  
Steel attempts to land a right hook, but Mero sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Steel advances into close range and lands a right uppercut.  Steel tries to land a right uppercut, but Mero blocks the shot and counters with a firm cross.  
Mero tries to land a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut to Mero's body.  
Steel is looking to close the distance and lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Steel lands a right hook to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.  
Steel manouvers Mero onto the ropes.  Mero hits home with a firm right hook.

Mero tries to land a left hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Steel steps inside and digs in a left uppercut to Mero's liver.

Steel gets on the inside and is on target with a left hook to his opponents ribs.  
Mero tries to step out of his opponents range and tries to land a cross, but Steel slips the shot and counters with a stinging cross.  
Steel is looking to close the distance and lands a left uppercut.  
Steel advances into close range.  Steel sidesteps to the left of his opponent and is on target with a right hook to his opponents body.  
Mero attempts to land an uppercut to the solar plexus, but he strays low!  The ref ignores Steel's complaints and signals for the action to continue.  
Mero steps to the outside.  Steel lands a cross to the body, and then to the head.  
Steel is looking to close the distance and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Mero recovers before his opponent can take advantage.
