Andy Cavanah vs Jonny Griffith

Boxing Daily Report from the United Boxing promoted show at Bradford Sports Centre, Bradford,  taking place on 19/03/2033:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the British-Northern England Super Bantamweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Andy Cavanah (6 - 5 - 2) who hails from Preston, UK and Jonny Griffith(15(5) - 8(3)) from Middlesbrough, UK.  Both Cavanah and Griffith weighed in at 122 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Mervyn Cour, and the three ringside judges are Nick Russell, Kai Comrie and Amon Valentine.  

Round 1: 

Cavanah advances into close range.  Griffith lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  Griffith ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Griffith pushes his forearm into Cavanah's face.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Griffith lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  Griffith holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Griffith pushes his forearm into Cavanah's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Griffith about fouling.  
Cavanah switches the action to the outside and attempts to land a jab, but Griffith sidesteps and counters with a sharp right hook.  
Griffith is looking to close the distance and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  Griffith clinches his opponent.  Griffith leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref separates the two fighters.

Griffith quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and digs in a solid left hook to his opponents ribs.  
Griffith walks Cavanah into the blue corner.  Griffith lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Griffith lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Griffith gets on the inside and slams a mean left hook into Cavanah's body.  IT LOOKS LIKE CAVANAH WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  Cavanah quickly recovers. 
Griffith lands two consecutive left uppercuts to his opponents head.  Griffith holds on to his opponent.  Griffith is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Griffith lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Cavanah steps away from his opponent.  Griffith is on target with a solid cross.  
Griffith gets on the inside and connects with a stinging right hook.  Griffith ties up his opponent.  Griffith throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Cavanah tries to keep the action at long range.  Griffith sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Cavanah is on target with a cross.  
Cavanah closes the distance.  Griffith is on target with a left hook.  Griffith clinches his opponent.  Griffith throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Griffith throws a left hook, but his opponent avoids the punch.  Griffith ties up his opponent.  Griffith tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Cavanah's kidney. Griffith leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Griffith hits home with a firm right hook.

Griffith closes the distance and throws a left uppercut, but the shot lands on his opponents guard.  Griffith ties up his opponent.  Griffith leans on his opponent using all his weight. The referee separates the two fighters and warns Griffith to stop holding.

Griffith is looking to put the pressure on now...he knows a few clean shots could mean an early night.  Griffith lands three consecutive right uppercuts to his opponents body.  He then lands three consecutive right hooks to his opponents ribs, AND DROPS CAVANAH TO THE CANVAS!  He manages to get up at 4.  It looks like Cavanah has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.  
Griffith lands two left hooks to the body, and one to the head.

Griffith closes the distance and lands a right hook to the body, a left uppercut to the head and a left hook to the head.

At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Cavanah's trainer is advising how he could improve the accuracy of his work.  Cavanah's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Cavanah's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

Some sustained pressure from Griffith could be enough to finish Cavanah!  Griffith lands a right uppercut, left hook and a cross to his opponents head, KNOCKING CAVANAH DOWN!  He tries to rise on shaky legs but Cavanah cant beat the count!  The winner by KO is Griffith!
