Napoleon Djan vs Nuru Poku

Boxing Daily Report from the Coetzee Promotions promoted show at Kumasi Dede, Kumasi,  taking place on 25/04/2033:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Ghana-Ashanti Super Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Napoleon Djan (10(1) - 3(2)) who hails from Kumasi, Ghana and Nuru Poku(4 - 24(2) - 3) from Kumasi, Ghana.  Both Djan and Poku weighed in at 140 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Faraji Anyidoho, and the three ringside judges are Louis Nkrumah, Rob Adjei and Haider Raad.  

Round 1: 

Djan gets on the inside and is on target with a left hook.  Djan clinches his opponent.  Djan pushes his forearm into Poku's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Djan about fouling.  
Poku hits home with a cross.  
Djan is on target with a jab.  
Poku attempts to land an uppercut to the solar plexus, but he strays low!  The ref stops the action.  The ref sends Djan to the neutral corner.  He warns Poku to stop fouling or he'll lose a point.  
Djan closes the distance.  Djan sidesteps to the right of his opponent and drives a firm left hook into his opponents body.  
Djan digs in a telling left hook to Poku's liver.  POKU IS HURT!  Poku recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Djan is on target with a right hook to Poku's body.  
Djan closes the distance.  Djan pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Djan lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  
Djan snaps his opponents head back with a sharp jab.  
Djan lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  He then lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Djan closes the distance and lands a right hook to the body followed by a left uppercut to the head.  
Djan lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  Djan holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Djan pushes his forearm into Poku's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Djan.  
Djan is on target with a left hook to his opponents body.  
Djan wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Poku dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Djan lands a right hook to the body, a left hook to the head and a left hook to the body.  
Djan is looking to close the distance and lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Djan digs in a firm left uppercut to Poku's liver.  
Djan digs in a left uppercut to his opponents liver.  Djan holds on to his opponent.  Djan leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks Djan's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Djan gets on the inside and is on target with a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Djan gets on the inside and is on target with a right hook to Poku's ribcage.  
Djan walks Poku down, trapping him in a corner.  Djan connects with a right hook.  
Djan gets on the inside and lands a left uppercut to the body, a left uppercut to the head and a right hook to the body.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  
Djan thinks he can end the show early....he's looking to put Poku away.  Djan lands a right uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  He continues the combination and lands a cross to the head followed by a right hook to the body, AND SENDS POKU TO THE CANVAS!  He is back up on his feet at 4.  It looks like Poku has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Poku's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.  Poku's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.
