Floyd McCardell vs Declan Matteson

Boxing Daily Report from the Gore Promotions promoted show at Gore Gym, Boston,  taking place on 16/04/2033:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Floyd McCardell (1(1) - 0) who hails from Boston, USA and Declan Matteson(1 - 0) from Tucson, USA.  Both McCardell and Matteson weighed in at 122 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Hassan Quadri, and the three ringside judges are Mike Stobie, Jack Walsh and Fred Reese.  

Round 1: 

Matteson attempts to land a right hook, but McCardell dodges the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
McCardell digs in a stinging left hook to Matteson's body.  
McCardell is looking to close the distance.  Matteson throws a right uppercut, but McCardell clinches his opponent.  McCardell is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures McCardell about fouling.  
McCardell is on target with a firm cross.  
McCardell advances into close range.  McCardell hits home with a left hook.  McCardell clinches his opponent.  McCardell uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Matteson behind the head. As Matteson tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as McCardell dabs at his face checking for damage.  
McCardell lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  McCardell clinches his opponent.  McCardell leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Matteson finds the target with a jab.  
McCardell steps inside and walks Matteson down, trapping him in a corner.  McCardell lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a left uppercut to the head.  He then lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body.  
McCardell lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  He follows up the attack and lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  
McCardell drives a left uppercut into Matteson's body.  
McCardell lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Matteson steps to the outside and hits home with an overhand left.  
McCardell closes the distance and tries to land a left hook, but Matteson sidesteps and counters with a right hook.  
Matteson is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Matteson quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  McCardell lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
McCardell steps inside and lands a right hook, right uppercut and a left hook to his opponents body.  
Matteson throws a left hook, but McCardell clinches his opponent.  McCardell tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Matteson's kidney. 
McCardell lands a left uppercut followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body.  
McCardell cuts off the ring, trapping Matteson in the blue corner.  McCardell lands two right hook's to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
McCardell is looking to close the distance and is on target with a right hook to his opponents body.  
McCardell lands a left hook to the head, a left uppercut to the body and a right hook to the head.  McCardell holds on to his opponent.  McCardell uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Matteson's kidney. The referee separates the two fighters and warns McCardell.  
Matteson is looking to keep the action on the outside and lands a cross.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Matteson's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.  Matteson's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

Matteson pivots from in front of his opponent.  Matteson throws a right hook, but McCardell ties up his opponent.  McCardell is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. McCardell hits his opponent with a kidney shot within the clinch. 
Matteson tries to step out of his opponents range and drives a jab into McCardell's body.  
McCardell drives a sharp right hook into Matteson's body.  
McCardell drives a left hook into his opponents liver.

McCardell is really starting to turn up the heat!  He senses a stoppage here.  McCardell drives a potent right hook into Matteson's body.  MATTESON IS DOWN!  HE UNSTEADILY TRIES TO GET UP BUT IS UNABLE TO BEAT THE 10 COUNT!  The winner by KO is McCardell!
