Garen Mauriac vs James Hinault

Boxing Daily Report from the Pacific and Andean Promotions promoted show at Palais Des Congres Bordeaux, Bordeaux,  taking place on 14/05/2033:

Clearly Pacific and Andean Promotions have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Garen Mauriac (7(3) - 0) who hails from Villeurbanne, France and James Hinault(10 - 11 - 5) from Liege, Belgium.  Mauriac weighed in at 112 pounds, while Hinault weighed in at 111 pounds and 10 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Raynard Ledoux, and the three ringside judges are Ouida Barse, Ouida Barse and Raynard Ledoux.  

Round 1: 

Mauriac connects with a stinging cross.

Hinault gets on the inside.  Mauriac lands two left hooks followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  Mauriac ties up his opponent.  Mauriac is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Mauriac quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands an overhand right followed by a cross to his opponents head.  
Mauriac lands a left uppercut, jab and a cross to his opponents head, AND SENDS HINAULT SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 6.  Hinault quickly recovers. 
Mauriac is looking to keep the action on the outside and lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.

Mauriac connects with an overhand right.  
Mauriac lands an overhand left followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Hinault manouvers Mauriac onto the ropes.  Mauriac hits home with a cross.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Hinault's trainer is advising how he could improve the accuracy of his work.  Hinault's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.

Hinault steps inside.  Mauriac sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  Hinault quickly recovers. 
Hinault steps inside.  Mauriac sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a FEARSOME left hook.  IT LOOKS LIKE HINAULT WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  As Mauriac tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Hinault dabs at his face checking for damage.  Hinault almost instantly gets his legs back. 
Mauriac tries to step out of his opponents range and attempts to land a jab, but Hinault slips the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Mauriac steps away from his opponent and lands two jab's to the head followed by a cross to the body.  
Mauriac sidesteps to the right of his opponent and finds the target with a spiteful jab.  
Mauriac lands a DESTRUCTIVE cross.  HINAULT IS HURT!  Hinault almost instantly gets his legs back. 
Mauriac connects with an overhand right.  
Mauriac lands three consecutive straights to his opponents head.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  Hinault recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Hinault gets on the inside.  Mauriac drives a stinging right hook into Hinault's ribs.  
Mauriac switches the action to the outside and lands two jabs followed by an overhand left to his opponents head.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  
Hinault now appears to have recovered from that earlier shot.

Mauriac is keeping his hands low...it looks like he wants his opponent to throw first.  Hinault throws a jab, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right hook.

Hinault closes the distance.  Mauriac pivots to the side of his opponent and hits home with a stinging left hook.

Hinault throws an uppercut to the body, but lands well below the belt!  The ref ignores Mauriac's complaints and signals for the action to continue.  
Mauriac steps to the outside and lands a stiff jab.

Mauriac steps away from his opponent and hits home with an overhand left.  
Mauriac lands a right uppercut followed by a jab to his opponents head.  He continues the combination and lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  
Hinault forces Mauriac to retreat onto the ropes.  Mauriac knows Hinault is hurt...he is putting the pressure on now, looking for the stoppage.  Mauriac connects with a hurtful left uppercut.  DOWN GOES HINAULT!  HE IS STILL STRUGGLING TO HIS FEET AS THE COUNT REACHES 10!  The winner by KO is Mauriac!
