Cody Devin vs Antwan Roberts

Boxing Daily Report from the North Star Boxing promoted show at Canale Arena, Memphis,  taking place on 10/06/2033:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Cody Devin (8 - 0) who hails from Minneapolis, USA and Antwan Roberts(3 - 0 - 1) from Chicago, USA.  Both Devin and Roberts weighed in at 130 pounds.  
The referee tonight is James Nickson, and the three ringside judges are John Barrett, Leighton Parry and Robert Adee.  

Round 1: 

Devin advances into close range.  Devin sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  
Devin is on target with a left uppercut to his opponents liver.  
Roberts sidesteps to the right of his opponent and connects with a cross.  
Devin lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  Devin holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Devin pushes his forearm into Roberts's face.  The ref breaks Devin's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Devin cuts off the ring, trapping Roberts in a corner.  Devin lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Devin connects with a right uppercut.  Devin holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Devin pushes his forearm into Roberts's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Devin digs in a left hook to Roberts's body.  
Devin pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  He then lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Devin finds the target with a jab.  
Roberts lands a cross.  
Roberts manouvers Devin into a corner.  Roberts sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Devin connects with a cross.  
Devin lands a solid left hook.  
Devin closes the distance and is on target with a firm left hook.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Roberts's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Roberts's trainer is advising how he could stop so many clean shots getting through.
