Elderson Amkpa vs Zain Wassan

Boxing Daily Report from the Adumensa Promotions promoted show at Haaris Basha Gym, Maiduguri,  taking place on 01/07/2033:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Nigeria-Borno State Super Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Elderson Amkpa (11 - 19(1) - 4) who hails from Maiduguri, Nigeria and Zain Wassan(8 - 10(1) - 1) from Maiduguri, Nigeria.  Amkpa weighed in at 140 pounds, while Wassan weighed in at 140 pounds And 11 ounces.    As Wassan came in over the weight limit, only his opponent will be able to compete for the final eliminator position tonight.  
The referee tonight is Olufemi Doda, and the three ringside judges are Obaid Shariff, Rex Aduda and Thompson Ezenwaka.  

Round 1: 

Amkpa advances into close range.  Amkpa hits home with a left hook.  Amkpa wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Wassan has taken some damage from that accidental headbutt.  That has caused slight swelling  around the left eye.
