Kenji Sugai vs Nori Shoda

Boxing Daily Report from the Panyin Promotions promoted show at Yoshi Ota Gym, Kurume,  taking place on 28/08/2033:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Japan-Fukuoka Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Kenji Sugai (5(1) - 1(1)) who hails from Fukuoka, Japan and Nori Shoda(12 - 17 - 6) from Kitakyushu, Japan.  Sugai weighed in at 134 pounds and 1 ounces, while Shoda weighed in at 135 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Iwao Kusumoto, and the three ringside judges are Naoki Matsumura, Ryo Hora and Hiroki Shimabukuro.  

Round 1: 

Sugai voluntarily retreats back onto the ropes...he waves his opponent in!  Shoda accepts the invitation, throwing powerful combos, but is unable to land anything on Sugai.
