Marco Merida vs Gig Pantoja

Boxing Daily Report from the Yalley Promotions promoted show at Guayaquil Monge, Guayaquil,  taking place on 23/09/2033:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Ecuador-Guayas Light Heavyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Marco Merida (23 - 10(3) - 1) who hails from Guayaquil, Ecuador and Gig Pantoja(10(4) - 1) from Guayaquil, Ecuador.  Both Merida and Pantoja weighed in at 175 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Diego Jacome, and the three ringside judges are Juan Hernandez, Alano Camejo and Fanuco Malara.  

Round 1: 

Pantoja drives a right uppercut into his opponents ribcage.  Pantoja throws a jab, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Pantoja closes the distance and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Pantoja digs in a left hook to Merida's body.  
Pantoja lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Pantoja forces Merida to retreat onto the ropes.  Merida throws a left uppercut, but Pantoja holds on to his opponent.  Pantoja is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Pantoja.  
Pantoja is on target with a powerful right hook to Merida's body.  MERIDA IS DROPPED TO THE CANVAS!  He manages to get up at 4.  Pantoja clinches his opponent.  Pantoja tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Merida behind the head. The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Pantoja about fouling.

The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Merida dabs at his face checking for damage.  Merida has come off worse after that clash of heads.  That has caused minor damage to the nose.

Pantoja stalks his opponent...he just needs the right shot to put his opponent away!  Pantoja lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body, AND DROPS MERIDA TO THE CANVAS!  He is back up on his feet at 9.  The ref takes a good look at Merida's eyes.  The ref is waving the fight off...he doesnt think Merida is fit to continue!  The winner by TKO is Pantoja!
