Taipo Poti vs Michael Pennie

Boxing Daily Report from the Kiwi Promotions promoted show at Cole Nevin Gym, Wellington,  taking place on 23/10/2033:

Clearly Kiwi Promotions have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Taipo Poti (0 - 0) who hails from Auckland, New Zealand and Michael Pennie(0 - 1 - 2) from North Shore, New Zealand.  Poti weighed in at 167 pounds and 12 ounces, while Pennie weighed in at 168 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Barry Christeson, and the three ringside judges are Glynn Morgan, Declan Ngarara and Denton Rattray.  

Round 1: 

Poti advances into close range and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Poti is looking to close the distance and lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Poti steps inside.  Pennie throws a right hook, but Poti ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Poti pushes his forearm into Pennie's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Poti to stop fouling.  
Pennie tries to keep the action at long range.  Poti lands a firm cross.  
Pennie lands a cross to his opponents body.  Pennie tries to land a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Poti is looking to close the distance and is on target with a left hook.  
Poti gets on the inside and lands a right uppercut to the body, and then to the head.  
Pennie connects with a cross.  Pennie attempts to land a jab, but Poti sidesteps and counters with a right hook to Pennie's ribs.

Pennie is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Poti lands an overhand right followed by  two straights to his opponents head.  
Poti advances into close range and lands two right uppercut's to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Poti is on target with a right hook.  Poti clinches his opponent.  The ref breaks Poti's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Poti dabs at his face checking for damage.

At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Pennie's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.  Pennie's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.

Poti closes the distance and walks his opponent onto the ropes.  Poti lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Poti is looking to close the distance and lands a left hook to the body, a left hook to the head and a right hook to the head.  Poti holds on to his opponent.  Poti leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Poti connects with a sharp left hook.  
Poti is on target with a solid cross.  
Pennie tries to keep the action at long range.  Poti lands a straight 1 - 2.
