Eduardo Jiron vs Joaquin Baez

Boxing Daily Report from the Victor Bravo promoted show at Lorenzo Robles Gym, Ponce,  taking place on 18/11/2033:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a mandatory fight for the Puerto Rico Heavyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Puerto Rico Sports Network, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Eduardo Jiron (13(10) - 2(1)) who hails from Ponce, Puerto Rico and Joaquin Baez(5 - 1) from San Juan, Puerto Rico.  Jiron weighed in at 249 pounds and 12 ounces, while Baez weighed in at 233 pounds and 15 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Beltran Correira, and the three ringside judges are Ivan Magro, Ivan Magro and Esteban Labrada.  

Round 1: 

Jiron connects with a left hook.  
Baez sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Jiron is on target with a firm overhand right.  Jiron attempts to land a jab, but Baez parries the shot and counters with a right uppercut to his opponents body.

Baez steps back and leans on the ropes with his guard up.  Jiron steps in throwing power shots but is unable to land cleanly.  Jiron lands two right hooks followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  
Jiron tries to keep the action at long range.  Jiron is looking for the shot to finish his opponent.  Jiron lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head, AND DOWN GOES BAEZ!  He is back up on his feet at 4.  Baez now seems to have his senses back.  
Jiron steps to the outside and lands a cross followed by a overhand left to his opponents head.

Jiron switches the action to the outside and finds the target with a ramrod jab.  
Baez advances into close range.  Jiron hits home with a stinging right hook.

Baez closes the distance.  Jiron drives a sharp left hook into Baez's body.  
Jiron tries to step out of his opponents range and lands a jab followed by a overhand left to his opponents head.  Jiron throws an overhand left, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Jiron sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Baez lands a double jab to his opponents head.  Baez attempts to land a jab, but Jiron parries the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Jiron switches the action to the outside and lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Jiron lands a jab, cross and an overhand left to his opponents head.  
Baez steps inside and digs in a right hook to Jiron's ribcage.  
Baez advances into close range and lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Jiron pivots to the right of his opponent and hits home with a right uppercut.  
Jiron attempts to land a right uppercut, but Baez slips the shot and counters with a cross.  
Jiron hits home with a solid right hook.  
Jiron switches the action to the outside and is on target with a jab.  
Jiron lands with a ramrod jab.  
Baez gets on the inside and drives a left hook into his opponents body.  
Jiron pivots to the left of his opponent.  Jiron attempts to land a left uppercut, but Baez slips the shot and counters with a cross.  
Jiron tries to step out of his opponents range and lands a cross to the body, and then to the head.  He then lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Jiron lands a jab to the body followed by two straights to the head.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  Baez almost instantly gets his legs back.

Jiron tries to keep the action at long range and lands two straights followed by a jab to his opponents head, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  Baez almost instantly gets his legs back. 
Jiron lands a right hook to the body followed by a left uppercut to the head, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  Jiron throws an uppercut to the body, but lands well below the belt!  The ref ignores Baez's complaints and signals for the action to continue.  Baez quickly recovers. 
Jiron steps away from his opponent and throws a cross, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right hook.  
Baez gets on the inside.  Jiron lands a solid left uppercut.  
Jiron steps away from his opponent and hits home with a firm cross.  
Baez advances into close range.  Jiron digs in a firm right hook to his opponents ribs.  
Jiron pivots from in front of his opponent.  Jiron digs in a sharp left hook to his opponents body.  Jiron throws a right hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Baez is looking to close the distance.  Jiron throws a right uppercut, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Jiron switches the action to the outside and lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  Jiron throws an overhand right, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Baez connects with a left hook.  
Jiron lands a stinging left uppercut.  
Baez gets on the inside and digs in a left uppercut to his opponents body.

Baez steps inside.  Jiron tries to land a right hook, but Baez slips the shot and counters with a cross.

Jiron tries to step out of his opponents range and lands an overhand right followed by a cross to his opponents head, AND DROPS BAEZ!  He makes it to one knee, but is unable to rise any further as the ref counts 10!  The winner by KO is Jiron!
