Rex Rennie vs Ethan Ashdown

Boxing Daily Report from the Showtime Promotions promoted show at Macon City Auditorium, Macon,  taking place on 26/01/2034:

Clearly Showtime Promotions have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  On the line tonight is the USA-Georgia Featherweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Rex Rennie (14 - 0) who hails from Macon, USA and Ethan Ashdown(23 - 8(1) - 1) from Atlanta, USA.  Both Rennie and Ashdown weighed in at 126 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Ewan Rodgers, and the three ringside judges are Colin Binney, Mason Doughty and Fraser Walker.  

Round 1: 

Rennie steps inside and lands a left uppercut to the body, and then to the head.  
Ashdown sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Rennie is on target with a solid cross.  
Rennie lands a solid left hook.  
Rennie throws a left hook, but his opponent slips the shot.  Rennie ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Rennie pushes his forearm into Ashdown's face.  The referee warns Rennie and breaks the clinch.  
Ashdown switches the action to the outside.  Rennie hits home with a firm cross.  
Rennie is looking to close the distance and walks Ashdown down, trapping him in the red corner.  Rennie lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Rennie lands a right hook.  
Rennie lands a right hook to the head, a left hook to the body and a left hook to the head.

Rennie closes the distance.  Ashdown pivots to the right of his opponent.  Ashdown throws a left hook, but Rennie clinches his opponent.  Rennie uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Ashdown behind the head. The referee separates the two fighters and warns Rennie.

Ashdown quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and attempts to land an uppercut to the solar plexus, but he strays low!  The ref stops the action and gives Rennie time to recover.

Ashdown is looking to keep his distance.  Rennie lands a sharp jab.  
Rennie advances into close range and is on target with a firm left hook to his opponents liver.  
Rennie is looking to close the distance and manouvers Ashdown into the red corner.  Rennie sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Ashdown's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.  Ashdown's trainer is advising how he could stop so many clean shots getting through.
