Oro Varona vs Jake Leckie

Boxing Daily Report from the RCB promoted show at Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas,  taking place on 14/04/2034:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Oro Varona (13(10) - 0 - 1) who hails from Choloma, Honduras and Jake Leckie(27 - 9(5) - 1) from Louisville, USA.  Both Varona and Leckie weighed in at 140 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Ellis Slight, and the three ringside judges are Pedro Lua, George Ramo and Amon Gibson.  

Round 1: 

Leckie attempts to land a left hook, but Varona blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Varona is looking to keep his distance.  Leckie hits home with a cross.  
Varona drives a stinging right hook into his opponents body.  
Varona connects with a sharp cross.  
Varona steps to the outside.  Leckie tries to land a jab, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a sharp left uppercut to Leckie's ribs.  
Varona hits home with a firm cross.  
Leckie hits the target with a hard jab.  Leckie tries to land a cross, but Varona slips the shot and counters with a big right hook.  LECKIE IS HURT!  Leckie almost instantly gets his legs back. 
Leckie advances into close range and walks Varona down, trapping him on the ropes.  Leckie throws a left uppercut, but Varona clinches his opponent.  Varona pushes his forearm into Leckie's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Varona about fouling.  
Varona is looking to keep his distance and hits home with a cross.

Leckie sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a jab to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Leckie forces Varona to retreat onto the ropes.  Leckie lands a jab.  Leckie throws a cross, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Varona finds the target with a hard jab.  
Leckie gets on the inside and walks Varona down, trapping him on the ropes.  Varona crashes a big right hook to Leckie's ribs.  LECKIE IS HURT!  Leckie quickly recovers. 
Varona tries to keep the action at long range.  Leckie throws a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a firm left hook.  
Leckie gets on the inside.  Varona lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  Varona holds on to his opponent.  Varona is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee warns Varona and breaks the clinch.  
Leckie tries to land a left hook, but Varona blocks the shot and counters with a sharp right hook.  
Leckie manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  Leckie attempts to land a left uppercut, but Varona parries the shot and counters with a cross.  
Varona is looking to keep his distance.  Leckie finds the target with a jab.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Varona's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Leckie's trainer is advising how he could improve the accuracy of his work.

Varona lands a jab followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  Leckie recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Leckie steps inside.  Leckie quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Leckie cuts off the ring, trapping Varona on the ropes.  Varona lands a stinging jab.  
Leckie hits home with an overhand left.  
Varona lands an overhand left followed by a cross to his opponents head.  He continues the combination and lands three consecutive jabs to his opponents head.  
Varona is on target with a powerful left hook to his opponents ribs.  LECKIE WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  Varona attempts to land a left hook, but Leckie dodges the shot and counters with a cross.  Leckie recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Varona pivots from in front of his opponent.  Varona attempts to land a cross, but Leckie slips the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Leckie is looking to close the distance and walks Varona down, trapping him on the ropes.  Leckie tries to land a right hook, but Varona parries the shot and counters with a solid cross.  
Varona is looking to keep his distance.  Leckie throws an overhand right, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a solid right hook to Leckie's ribcage.  
Varona feints a left hook, and then hits home with a stinging cross.  
Leckie hits home with an overhand right.  
Leckie closes the distance and throws a right uppercut, but Varona clinches his opponent.  Varona leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Leckie digs in a right hook to Varona's body.  
Varona lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Varona steps away from his opponent and EXPLODES a HUGE cross into his opponents face.  IT LOOKS LIKE LECKIE WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  
Varona knows Leckie is hurt...he is putting the pressure on now, looking for the stoppage.  Varona SLAMS a spiteful cross into his opponents face.  LECKIE IS DOWN!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 4.  
Varona lands a right uppercut, left hook and a cross to his opponents head.  He then lands three consecutive right uppercuts to his opponents head, AND LECKIE IS DOWN!  The count reaches 10, but Leckie is unable to get up!  The winner by KO is Varona!
