Denton McClelland vs Turgay Cerci

Boxing Daily Report from the Smokin Joe promoted show at Walter Pyramid, Long Beach,  taking place on 28/06/2034:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Denton the Hitman McClelland (8(8) - 0 - 1) who hails from Syracuse, USA and Turgay Cerci(18 - 3(3)) from Adana, Turkey.  McClelland weighed in at 175 pounds, while Cerci weighed in at 175 pounds And 14 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Alastair Hankin, and the three ringside judges are Chris Jones, David Evans and John Dickie.  

Round 1: 

Cerci steps inside.  McClelland quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Cerci throws a right hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a solid cross.  
Cerci gets on the inside and is on target with a right hook.  
Cerci cuts off the ring, trapping McClelland on the ropes.  Cerci lands a cross.  
Cerci steps inside.  McClelland lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
McClelland steps to the outside.  Cerci hits home with an overhand right.  
Cerci forces McClelland to back into the ropes.  Cerci is on target with a cross.  
Cerci sidesteps to the right of his opponent and connects with a left hook.  
Cerci steps inside and walks McClelland down, trapping him on the ropes.  McClelland throws a right uppercut, but his opponent slips the shot.  McClelland ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Cerci pushes his forearm into McClelland's face.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
McClelland tries to keep the action at long range.  Cerci lands an overhand right.  
Cerci is looking to close the distance and throws a left hook, but McClelland clinches his opponent.  McClelland is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks McClelland's hold and signals for the fight to continue.

McClelland throws a left hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut.  
McClelland steps to the outside and is on target with a cross.  
Cerci is looking to close the distance.  McClelland digs in a stinging left hook to his opponents body.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...McClelland's trainer is advising how he could improve the accuracy of his work.  McClelland's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  McClelland's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

Cerci quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  McClelland hits home with a sharp cross.  
Cerci closes the distance.  McClelland lands a sharp left hook.  
McClelland lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
McClelland connects with a cross.  
McClelland tries to step out of his opponents range and connects with a stinging cross.  
Cerci closes the distance and connects with a left hook.  McClelland clinches his opponent.  McClelland leans on his opponent using all his weight. As they grapple, Cerci pushes his forearm into McClelland's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Cerci.

Cerci gets on the inside and forces McClelland to back into the ropes.  McClelland throws a right hook, but his opponent slips the punch.  McClelland clinches his opponent.  McClelland leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks McClelland's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
McClelland lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a jab to the head.  
McClelland lands a DEVASTATING cross.  CERCI WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  Cerci recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Cerci advances into close range and manages to force McClelland onto the ropes.  McClelland is on target with a FEARSOME right hook.  CERCI IS HURT!  
McClelland senses his opponent is hurt.  He is looking to stop Cerci and just needs the right shot.  McClelland lands a double left hook to his opponents head, AND DROPS CERCI TO THE CANVAS!  He is back up on his feet at 5.  It looks like Cerci has now recovered from that shot earlier.  
McClelland steps away from his opponent and is on target with a cross to Cerci's body.  
Cerci goes for the bodyshot, but lands south of the border!  The ref ignores McClelland's complaints and signals for the action to continue.

McClelland crashes a VICIOUS left uppercut to Cerci's body.  CERCI HAS BEEN KNOCKED DOWN!  He manages to get up at 5.

Cerci closes the distance and walks his opponent down, trapping him on the ropes.  Cerci throws a right hook, but McClelland clinches his opponent.  McClelland leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The referee breaks up the clinch and lectures McClelland to stop holding.  
McClelland lands a right uppercut followed by  two right hooks to his opponents head, AND DROPS CERCI!  He tries to rise on shaky legs but Cerci cant beat the count!  The winner by KO is McClelland!
