Brett Mattas vs John Allen

Boxing Daily Report from the Jon Crosby promoted show at Newcastle Panthers Club, Newcastle,  taking place on 14/10/2034:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Brett Mattas (8 - 0) who hails from Gold Coast, Australia and John Allen(6 - 12 - 6) from Manukau, New Zealand.  Both Mattas and Allen weighed in at 200 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Lewis MacConnell, and the three ringside judges are Jack Tripi, Geoff Crafford and Paul Onanyan.  

Round 1: 

Allen throws a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Mattas is looking to close the distance and lands a left hook.  
Mattas lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Mattas steps inside and walks Allen down, trapping him in the red corner.  Mattas pivots to the left of his opponent.  As Mattas tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Allen dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Mattas lands three consecutive jabs to his opponents head.  
Mattas quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Mattas is looking to close the distance.  Mattas pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Mattas hits home with a left uppercut.  
Mattas gets on the inside and manages to force Allen into the red corner.  Mattas pivots to the left of his opponent and hits home with a right hook.  
Mattas retreats back to the ropes, and waits for his opponent to attack.  Allen tries to tag Mattas on the ropes, but his opponent blocks every shot!  
Allen drops his guard, and stalks his opponent...he wants his opponent to throw a shot.  Mattas lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Mattas lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Mattas steps away from his opponent and is on target with a jab.

Allen's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Allen's trainer is advising how he could stop so many clean shots getting through.

Mattas lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  Mattas holds on to his opponent.  Mattas pushes his forearm into Allen's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Mattas about fouling.
