Gareth Drennan vs Waldemar Nerseh

Boxing Daily Report from the Smokin Joe promoted show at Qualcomm Stadium, San Diego,  taking place on 29/11/2034:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Gareth the Sledge-hammer Drennan (49(27) - 3(2) - 1) who hails from Anaheim, USA and Waldemar Nerseh(22 - 13(10) - 1) from Vienna, Austria.  Both Drennan and Nerseh weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Lewis Suttie, and the three ringside judges are David Ness, Peter Spang and John Rhydderch.  

Round 1: 

Drennan gets on the inside.  Nerseh pivots to the left of his opponent.  Nerseh throws a right hook, but Drennan holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Nerseh pushes his forearm into Drennan's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Nerseh.  
Drennan drives a right hook into Nerseh's ribs.  
Drennan lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  He follows up the attack and lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Drennan sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Nerseh throws a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left hook.  
Drennan advances into close range.  Drennan sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  
Drennan knows it could take just a few clean shots to force the stoppage.  Drennan lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body, DROPPING NERSEH TO THE CANVAS!  He beats the count, getting up at 4.  Nerseh now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.  
Drennan lands a right uppercut, right hook and a left hook to his opponents body.  
Drennan is looking to close the distance and digs in a solid right hook to Nerseh's body.  
Drennan lands a right hook followed by  two left hooks to his opponents body.  Drennan ties up his opponent.  Drennan is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Drennan forces Nerseh to retreat onto the ropes.  Drennan tries to land a left uppercut, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Nerseh lands a left hook.  Drennan clinches his opponent.  Nerseh leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Drennan lands with a hard jab.  
Nerseh tries to step out of his opponents range and finds the target with a sharp jab.  
Drennan closes the distance and lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Nerseh is looking to keep his distance and hits the target with a spiteful jab.  
Drennan walks his opponent into a corner.  Drennan lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Drennan drives a left hook into his opponents body.  
Nerseh pivots to the left of his opponent.  Nerseh connects with a left hook.  Drennan ties up his opponent.  Drennan pushes his forearm into Nerseh's face.  The ref breaks Drennan's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Drennan gets on the inside.  Drennan quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and hits home with a sharp right uppercut.  
Nerseh attempts to land a jab, but Drennan slips the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Drennan advances into close range and lands two right hooks to the body, and one to the head.  Drennan holds on to his opponent.  Drennan is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Drennan about fouling.  
Nerseh pivots to the side of his opponent.  Drennan lands three consecutive left hooks to his opponents ribs.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.    That accidental headbutt has resulted in some damage to Drennan.  That has caused slight swelling  around the left eye.  
Drennan advances into close range and drives a sharp right uppercut into his opponents body.  
Drennan lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Nerseh strikes his opponents body with a jab.  
Drennan feints a left, and then is on target with a jab.  Drennan tries to land a cross, but Nerseh slips the shot and counters with a left hook.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Nerseh's trainer is advising how he could improve the accuracy of his work.  Nerseh's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.

Drennan circles his opponent with a low guard, waiting for his opponent to attack.  Nerseh lands a cross.
