Douglas Baird vs Celis Wagemans

Boxing Daily Report from the Kurusu Promotions promoted show at ECCO Arena, Middlesbrough,  taking place on 21/12/2034:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Douglas Baird (43(8) - 3(2)) who hails from Dundee, UK and Celis Wagemans(13 - 13(1) - 6) from Ghent, Belgium.  Both Baird and Wagemans weighed in at 200 pounds.  
The referee tonight is James McCarthy, and the three ringside judges are Rob Marceau, Michael Munhall and David Duffy.  

Round 1: 

Baird closes the distance.  Baird voluntarily retreats back onto the ropes...he waves his opponent in!  Wagemans steps in throwing power shots but is unable to land cleanly.  
Baird lands three consecutive left hooks to his opponents head.  
Baird hits home with a solid left hook.  
Baird is looking to close the distance and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Baird throws a right hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.  
Baird lands two consecutive left uppercuts to his opponents head.  
Wagemans tries to keep the action at long range.  Baird finds the target with a jab.  
Baird lands a jab to the body, and then to the head.  
Wagemans attempts to land a left uppercut, but Baird slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut to Wagemans's body.  
Baird gets on the inside and throws a right hook, but his opponent parries the shot.  Baird holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Baird pushes his forearm into Wagemans's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Baird.  
Baird lands a solid left hook.  Baird ties up his opponent.  Baird leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Baird lands a left uppercut to the body, and then to the head.  
Baird drives a jab into his opponents body.  
Wagemans switches the action to the outside.  Baird finds the target with a stiff jab.  
Wagemans is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Baird lands two straights followed by an overhand right to his opponents head.  
Wagemans throws a cross, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a cross.  
Baird steps inside and lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  
Baird gets on the inside and lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a left uppercut to the head.  
Baird closes the distance and lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  
Baird lands a right hook to the body, a left hook to the head and a left uppercut to the head.

Baird throws a left hook, but his opponent slips the shot.  Baird holds on to his opponent.  Baird uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Wagemans's kidney. The referee warns Baird and breaks the clinch.  
Baird lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  Baird ties up his opponent.  Baird tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Wagemans behind the head. The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Baird about fouling.  
Wagemans steps away from his opponent.  Baird hits home with a cross.  
Baird steps inside and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  Baird ties up his opponent.  Baird leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref separates the two fighters.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Wagemans's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Wagemans's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.  Wagemans's trainer is advising how he could improve his defence.
