Jacob Fergerson vs Corey Smailes

Boxing Daily Report from the Eddie Burns promoted show at San Diego Gwenn, San Diego,  taking place on 06/12/2034:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a final eliminator for the USA-California Super Bantamweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Jacob Fergerson (22 - 18(3) - 4) who hails from San Diego, USA and Corey Smailes(14 - 14(1) - 7 - 1(NC)) from Oakland, USA.  Both Fergerson and Smailes weighed in at 122 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Sam Lowe, and the three ringside judges are Theo Carson, Mark Pizarro and Johnny Tyree.  

Round 1: 

Fergerson is looking to keep his distance and lands an overhand left.  
Smailes is looking to close the distance.  Fergerson hits home with a left hook.  
Smailes steps inside.  Fergerson pivots to the right of his opponent.  Smailes is on target with a right hook.

As Fergerson tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Smailes has taken some damage there.  That has caused slight swelling  around the left eye.  
Smailes closes the distance.  Fergerson hits home with a left hook.  
Smailes circles his opponent with a low guard, waiting for his opponent to attack.  Fergerson lands a jab.  
Smailes digs in a right hook to his opponents body.  
Smailes steps inside.  Fergerson pivots to the right of his opponent and digs in a left hook to Smailes's liver.
