Hiroki Hagiwara vs Taro Kuwahara

Boxing Daily Report from the Japanese Boxing Federation promoted show at Osaka Miyoshi, Osaka,  taking place on 23/12/2034:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Japan-Osaka Super Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Hiroki Hagiwara (15 - 20(1) - 6) who hails from Suita, Japan and Taro Kuwahara(11 - 14 - 5) from Osaka, Japan.  Both Hagiwara and Kuwahara weighed in at 154 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Naoki Shiraki, and the three ringside judges are Akira Ando, Hiroki Tamashiro and Eiji Sakata.  

Round 1: 

Hagiwara switches the action to the outside and is on target with a cross.  Hagiwara attempts to land a jab, but Kuwahara slips the shot and counters with a cross.  
Kuwahara tries to land a left hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left hook.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Kuwahara's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Kuwahara's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.

As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Kuwahara has taken some damage there.  That has caused slight swelling  around the left eye.  
Kuwahara sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Hagiwara throws a left hook, but is off-target.  Hagiwara holds on to his opponent.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.
