Diego Lopez vs Diego Soza

Boxing Daily Report from the Acheampong Promotions promoted show at Santo Domingo de Guz Mancebo, Santo Domingo de Guzman,  taking place on 27/12/2034:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a mandatory fight for the Dominican Republic-Distrito Nacional Featherweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on CERTV, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Diego Lopez (21 - 7 - 1) who hails from Santo Domingo de Guzman, Dominican Republic and Diego Soza(26(12) - 13(12)) from Santo Domingo de Guzman, Dominican Republic.  Both Lopez and Soza weighed in at 126 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Paco Cantero, and the three ringside judges are Dimos Navarra, Diego Torno and Joaquin Bacallao.  

Round 1: 

Lopez tries to step out of his opponents range and is on target with a jab.  
Soza lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body, AND DROPS LOPEZ TO THE CANVAS!  He manages to get up at 4.  
Lopez steps to the outside.  Lopez contemptuously drops his hands, trying to provoke his opponent.  Soza hits home with a sharp cross.  
Lopez lands a cross.  
Soza gets on the inside and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Soza lands a left uppercut to the head, a right hook to the head and a right uppercut to the body.  
Soza closes the distance and cuts off the ring, trapping Lopez on the ropes.  Soza lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body.  Soza attempts to land a left hook, but Lopez slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut to Soza's body.  
Soza lands a right hook to the body, a left uppercut to the head and a left uppercut to the body.  
Soza is on target with a sharp left hook to Lopez's body.  
Soza lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  
Soza digs in a stinging left hook to Lopez's liver.  
Soza is on target with a right hook to Lopez's body.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Lopez dabs at his face checking for damage.  Lopez has been damaged by that accidental headbutt.  That has caused slight swelling  around the left eye.  
Soza lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Soza steps inside and lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Lopez tries to step out of his opponents range and throws a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a firm right hook.  
Soza lands a left hook to the body, a right hook to the head and a right hook to the body.  Soza clinches his opponent.  Soza is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Soza lands a right uppercut to the body, a left hook to the body and a left uppercut to the head.  
Soza sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Lopez throws a left hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a cross.  
Lopez tries to land a cross, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Soza walks his opponent down, trapping him on the ropes.  Soza feints a cross, and then snaps his opponents head back with a hard jab.  
Soza gets on the inside and lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Soza lands a right hook to the body followed by a right uppercut to the head.  Soza clinches his opponent.  Soza is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Soza is looking to close the distance and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Lopez's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Lopez's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Lopez's trainer is advising how he could improve his defence.
