Sean Aikens vs Michael Mulryan

Boxing Daily Report from the Gold Coast Boxing promoted show at Brisbane Entertainment Centre, Brisbane,  taking place on 20/01/2035:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Australia Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Sean Aikens (20 - 3(3)) who hails from Adelaide, Australia and Michael Mulryan(22(8) - 7(2)) from Melbourne, Australia.  Both Aikens and Mulryan weighed in at 135 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Dave Antoni, and the three ringside judges are Pepe Brunetti, Barry Forbes and Ben Connell.  

Round 1: 

Mulryan gets on the inside and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  Mulryan throws a left uppercut, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut.  
Aikens is looking to keep his distance.  Mulryan connects with a sharp cross.  
Aikens pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a left hook.

Mulryan closes the distance.  Mulryan pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a left uppercut, right hook and a left hook to his opponents body.  
Aikens switches the action to the outside.  Mulryan hits home with a firm overhand right.  
Mulryan is looking to close the distance and tries to land a left uppercut, but Aikens parries the shot and counters with a left uppercut.

Mulryan senses a stoppage victory - he just needs the right shot.  Mulryan lands a right uppercut to the body, a left hook to the head and a right hook to the body, AND AIKENS IS KNOCKED DOWN!  He beats the count, getting up at 4.  It looks like Aikens has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.
