Alano Monterroso vs Ponce Cortez

Boxing Daily Report from the Chigaga Promotions promoted show at Santa Cruz de la Sie Maximo, Santa Cruz de la Sierra,  taking place on 21/01/2035:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a mandatory fight for the Bolivia-Santa Cruz Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Tigo Bolivia, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Alano Monterroso (21 - 5(2)) who hails from Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia and Ponce Cortez(26(5) - 1) from Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia.  Both Monterroso and Cortez weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Ramirez Estopinal, and the three ringside judges are Cuba Badia, Carlos Quezada and Alejandro Calvillo.  

Round 1:

Cortez is on target with a right hook to Monterroso's ribs.  Cortez attempts to land a left hook, but Monterroso blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Cortez lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  As Monterroso tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Cortez dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Cortez feints a right hook, and then is on target with a left hook.

The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Monterroso dabs at his face checking for damage.    It looks like the clash of heads has caused some damage to Monterroso.  That has caused a minor cut in the corner of the right eye.  .
