Edmundo Anchondo vs Diego Salaz

Boxing Daily Report from the Shreveport Indicolites promoted show at Complejo Ferial de Puerto Rico, Ponce,  taking place on 03/02/2035:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Puerto Rico-Ponce Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Edmundo Anchondo (7 - 13(2) - 6) who hails from Ponce, Puerto Rico and Diego Salaz(18 - 3 - 1) from Ponce, Puerto Rico.  Both Anchondo and Salaz weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Ivan Magro, and the three ringside judges are Lorenzo Capo, Beltran Correira and Beltran Correira.  

Round 1: 

Anchondo feints a left hook, and then lands a cross.  
Salaz steps inside and lands a left uppercut followed by  two right hooks to his opponents head.  
Salaz steps inside and is on target with a stinging left hook.  
Salaz advances into close range and lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.

Salaz manouvers his opponent into the corner.  Salaz sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands two right hooks to the body, and one to the head.

Salaz walks Anchondo down, trapping him on the ropes.  Salaz is looking to force the stoppage!  Salaz slams a nasty right hook into Anchondo's body.  ANCHONDO IS DOWN!  He manages to get up at 5.  Anchondo now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.
