Ranjiv Chawla vs Leeroy Poon

Boxing Daily Report from the Sultan's Fists promoted show at Ipoh Convention Centre, Ipoh,  taking place on 23/02/2035:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Ranjiv Chawla (10(5) - 1) who hails from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Leeroy Poon(6 - 5(2) - 2) from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.  Both Chawla and Poon weighed in at 105 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Tariq Masih, and the three ringside judges are Jawad Shah, Danyaal Moghaddam and Syed Khan.  

Round 1: 

Chawla closes the distance and drives a stinging right hook into Poon's body.  
Chawla feints a right hook, and then connects with a cross.  Chawla attempts to land a cross, but Poon parries the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Chawla connects with a left hook.  
Chawla advances into close range and lands a sharp left uppercut.  
Chawla is looking to close the distance and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  He continues the combination and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  Chawla ties up his opponent.  Chawla is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks Chawla's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Chawla pivots to the side of his opponent.  Poon throws a right hook, but Chawla clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Chawla pushes his forearm into Poon's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Chawla.  
Chawla manouvers Poon into the corner.  Chawla lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  Chawla clinches his opponent.  Chawla leans on his opponent using all his weight. Poon tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Chawla's kidney. 
Chawla lands a left uppercut followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Chawla pivots to the left of his opponent and drives a firm left hook into Poon's liver.  
Chawla closes the distance and digs in a left hook to Poon's liver.  
Chawla hits home with a firm right hook.  
Chawla lands two left hooks to the body, and one to the head, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  
Poon tries to step out of his opponents range.  Chawla senses his opponent is hurt.  He is looking to stop Poon and just needs the right shot.  Chawla whips in a big right uppercut to Poon's ribcage.  POON IS SENT SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  He manages to get up at 5.  Poon now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.  
Chawla lands a stinging left hook.  
Chawla lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Chawla forces Poon to back into the ropes.  Chawla connects with a left hook.  
Chawla lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  
Chawla hits home with a sharp left hook.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Poon's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.  Poon's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

Chawla closes the distance and is on target with a firm left hook.  
Chawla steps inside and lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  He continues the combination and lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  Poon recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Chawla hits home with a solid left hook.  
Poon tries to step out of his opponents range.  Chawla is on target with a cross.  
Chawla connects with a firm overhand right.  
Poon attempts to land a right uppercut, but Chawla sidesteps and counters with a sharp right hook.  
Chawla gets on the inside and attempts to land a right hook, but Poon blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Poon pivots to the left of his opponent.  Chawla lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Chawla lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  Chawla ties up his opponent.  Chawla uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Poon's kidney. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Chawla walks Poon down, trapping him in the corner.  Chawla sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a left hook to the body, a left uppercut to the head and a right hook to the head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  
Chawla stalks his opponent...he just needs the right shot to put his opponent away!  Chawla lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head, AND SENDS POON TO THE CANVAS!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 5.  
Chawla lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  Poon now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.  
Chawla throws a right hook, but is unable to get through his opponents guard.  Chawla ties up his opponent.  Chawla leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Chawla lands a right uppercut followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Chawla lands a left hook to the head, a left uppercut to the head and a left hook to the body, AND SENDS POON TO THE CANVAS!  He beats the count, getting up at 9.  
At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Poon's trainer is telling his fighter to tighten his defence.

Chawla lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  Chawla holds on to his opponent.  Chawla is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks Chawla's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Chawla walks Poon into a corner.  Chawla digs in a solid right hook to his opponents ribs.  
Chawla lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  
Chawla senses a stoppage victory - he just needs the right shot.  Chawla crashes a nasty right uppercut to Poon's body.  POON IS DROPPED TO THE CANVAS!  He beats the count, getting up at 6.  Poon now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.
