Venacio Astorga vs Matthew McGovern

Boxing Daily Report from the Mr. Vicious promoted show at City West Hotel, Dublin,  taking place on 01/04/2035:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Venacio Astorga (9(7) - 0) who hails from Mexicali, Mexico and Matthew McGovern(12 - 13(2) - 2) from Dublin, Ireland.  Both Astorga and McGovern weighed in at 135 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Nathan Fitzgerald, and the three ringside judges are Shane Cody, Clinton MacAdam and Thomas McShane.  

Round 1: 

Astorga is on target with a left hook to McGovern's body.  
Astorga gets on the inside and drives a left uppercut into McGovern's body.  Astorga ties up his opponent.  Astorga pushes his forearm into McGovern's face.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Astorga digs in a sharp left uppercut to his opponents liver.  Astorga clinches his opponent.  McGovern throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. The referee separates the two fighters and warns McGovern.  
Astorga pivots to the side of his opponent.  McGovern throws a left hook, but Astorga holds on to his opponent.  Astorga is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Astorga lands a right hook to the body, a right uppercut to the head and a right hook to the body.  
Astorga closes the distance.  Astorga lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as McGovern dabs at his face checking for damage.  McGovern recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Astorga digs in a right uppercut to his opponents ribcage.  
Astorga lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  Astorga throws a left hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
McGovern steps away from his opponent.  Astorga lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Astorga hits home with a cross.  
Astorga tries to land a cross, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
McGovern steps to the outside.  McGovern sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Astorga lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Astorga gets on the inside and hits home with a left hook.  
Astorga lands a right hook, left hook and a left uppercut to his opponents body.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  McGovern almost instantly recovers. 
Astorga drives a firm left hook into his opponents body.  
Astorga steps inside and is on target with a stinging right hook to his opponents body.  
McGovern finds the target with a jab.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...McGovern's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.  McGovern's trainer is telling his fighter to tighten his defence.

McGovern throws a right hook, but Astorga clinches his opponent.  Astorga leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Astorga lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  Astorga holds on to his opponent.  Astorga throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. 
McGovern is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Astorga lands two jabs followed by a cross to his opponents head.  
Astorga manages to force McGovern onto the ropes.  Astorga digs in a firm left uppercut to McGovern's body.  
McGovern throws a left hook, but Astorga ties up his opponent.  Astorga leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Astorga lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Astorga lands a left hook, cross and a jab to his opponents head.  
Astorga lands two right hook's to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Astorga lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  Astorga holds on to his opponent.  Astorga tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits McGovern's kidney. 
Astorga closes the distance.  McGovern throws a left uppercut, but Astorga clinches his opponent.  Astorga leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The referee breaks up the clinch and lectures Astorga to stop holding.  
Astorga gets on the inside and digs in a weighty right hook to McGovern's body.  IT LOOKS LIKE MCGOVERN WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  McGovern almost instantly recovers. 
Astorga hits home with a solid right hook.  
Astorga manouvers McGovern into the corner.  Astorga sidesteps to the left of his opponent and digs in a sharp left uppercut to McGovern's body.  
Astorga sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Astorga lands a left hook to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.  Astorga holds on to his opponent.  Astorga uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits McGovern behind the head. The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Astorga about fouling.  Astorga tries to land a right hook, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Astorga drives a right hook into his opponents body.  
Astorga lands a cross.  
Astorga lands a right uppercut to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Astorga lands a right hook to the head followed by two left hook's to the body, AND KNOCKS MCGOVERN DOWN!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 4.  McGovern quickly recovers. 
McGovern quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Astorga lands two left hook's to the head followed by a right hook to the body, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  McGovern almost instantly gets his legs back. 
At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...McGovern's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.  McGovern's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

Astorga walks his opponent down, trapping him in the corner.  McGovern tries to land a left hook, but Astorga slips the shot and counters with a FIERCE right uppercut.  IT LOOKS LIKE MCGOVERN WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  
Some sustained pressure from Astorga could be enough to finish McGovern!  Astorga lands two straights followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head, AND KNOCKS MCGOVERN DOWN!  He manages to get up at 5.  
Astorga lands a right uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  He follows up the attack and lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  Astorga ties up his opponent.  The referee breaks up the clinch and lectures Astorga to stop holding.  McGovern now seems to have his senses back.  
Astorga digs in a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Astorga sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a right uppercut to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.  
Astorga lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body, KNOCKING MCGOVERN DOWN!  He beats the count, getting up at 4.  
McGovern switches the action to the outside.  Astorga lands with a spiteful jab.  McGovern now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.  
Astorga steps inside and lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Astorga lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body, KNOCKING MCGOVERN DOWN!  The ref does not even bother with the count...he's seen enough!  The fight has been stopped!  The winner by TKO is Astorga!
