John Gurganus vs Scott Chitepo

Boxing Daily Report from the Smokin Joe promoted show at Rogers Center, Toronto,  taking place on 03/10/2035:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Long John Gurganus (35(27) - 2(1)) who hails from Markham, Canada and Scott Chitepo(24(15) - 6(5)) from Bulawayo, Zimbabwe.  Both Gurganus and Chitepo weighed in at 168 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Inigo Bennie, and the three ringside judges are David Mason, Clint Nicolls and Louis Montrose.  

Round 1: 

Chitepo is looking to close the distance and lands a right hook to the body, a left hook to the head and a right hook to the head.  Chitepo attempts to land a left hook, but Gurganus blocks the shot and counters with a HUGE left uppercut.  IT LOOKS LIKE CHITEPO WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  
Gurganus steps away from his opponent.  Gurganus knows it could take just a few clean shots to force the stoppage.  Gurganus SLAMS a VICIOUS left hook into his opponents face.  CHITEPO IS DOWN!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 4.  Chitepo now appears to have recovered from that earlier shot.  
Chitepo gets on the inside and lands a left hook to the head, a right hook to the body and a right uppercut to the head.  Chitepo attempts to land a right hook, but Gurganus sidesteps and counters with a nasty right hook.  IT LOOKS LIKE CHITEPO WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  Chitepo recovers before his opponent can take advantage.

Gurganus hits home with a stinging left hook.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Gurganus dabs at his face checking for damage.

Chitepo tries to land a cross, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left hook.
