Mick Purvis vs Venacio Costilla

Boxing Daily Report from the Smokin Joe promoted show at Memorial Coliseum, Los Angeles,  taking place on 31/10/2035:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Mick the Beast Purvis (19(17) - 1(1)) who hails from Georgetown, Guyana and Venacio Costilla(25(12) - 5(3)) from Ciudad del Este, Paraguay.  Both Purvis and Costilla weighed in at 115 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Dave Markle, and the three ringside judges are Patrick Hardie, Noah Denoon and Robert Halbert.  

Round 1: 

Costilla advances into close range.  Purvis throws a left hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a firm right uppercut.  
Costilla is on target with a cross.  Costilla tries to land a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Costilla quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and drives a right hook into his opponents body.  
Costilla lands two left hooks to the body, and one to the head.  
Purvis tries to step out of his opponents range and lands a jab, cross and a jab to his opponents head.  
Costilla advances into close range and cuts off the ring, trapping Purvis on the ropes.  Costilla pivots to the left of his opponent.  Costilla throws a right hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a firm left uppercut.  
Costilla drives a left hook into Purvis's body.  
Costilla advances into close range and drives a left uppercut into Purvis's ribs.  
Costilla cuts off the ring, trapping Purvis on the ropes.  Costilla drives a stinging right hook into his opponents body.  
Costilla sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Purvis wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Costilla dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Costilla drives a right uppercut into Purvis's body.

Costilla closes the distance.  Purvis connects with a mean right hook.  COSTILLA WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  
The right shot from Purvis could be enough to force the stoppage!  Purvis lands a right uppercut followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  He continues the combination and lands a right hook, left uppercut and a left hook to his opponents head.  It looks like Costilla has now recovered from that shot earlier.  
Purvis tries to keep the action at long range and lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Costilla closes the distance.  Purvis hits home with a stinging right hook.  
Costilla steps inside and is on target with a sharp left hook.  
Purvis throws a left uppercut, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a solid right uppercut.  
Costilla is looking to close the distance and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Costilla lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Purvis quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and connects with a CRUSHING right hook.  COSTILLA WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  
Purvis steps away from his opponent.  Purvis is looking to put the pressure on now...he knows a few clean shots could mean an early night.  Purvis lands a left uppercut followed by a cross to his opponents head, AND DROPS COSTILLA TO THE CANVAS!  He is back up on his feet at 5.  Costilla now seems to have got his legs back.

Costilla closes the distance.  Purvis is looking to put the pressure on now...he knows a few clean shots could mean an early night.  Purvis lands a cross, right uppercut and a cross to his opponents head, AND SENDS COSTILLA TO THE CANVAS!  He is unable to get up before the count reaches 10!  The winner by KO is Purvis!
