Fumio Takahashi vs Shinji Sano

Boxing Daily Report from the Gold Coast Boxing promoted show at Yoyogi National Gymnasium, Tokyo,  taking place on 27/10/2035:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a mandatory fight for the Japan Super Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on TV Tokyo, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Fumio Takahashi (30(18) - 4(1) - 1) who hails from Amagasaki, Japan and Shinji Sano(23(1) - 0 - 1) from Chiba, Japan.  Takahashi weighed in at 139 pounds And 14 ounces, while Sano weighed in at 140 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Hajime Amari, and the three ringside judges are Hisoka Yamamoto, Ichiro Koizumi and Hikaru Shibuya.  

Round 1: 

Takahashi feints a jab, and then connects with an overhand right.

Sano closes the distance.  Takahashi sidesteps to the right of his opponent and hits home with a left hook.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Takahashi has been damaged by that accidental headbutt.  That has caused minor swelling  around the right eye.
