John Wight vs Juan Escovedo

Boxing Daily Report from the Smokin Joe promoted show at Memorial Coliseum, Los Angeles,  taking place on 05/12/2035:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Southern John Wight (36(25) - 1 - 2) who hails from New Orleans, USA and Juan Escovedo(27(4) - 6(5) - 2) from Carolina, Puerto Rico.  Wight weighed in at 107 pounds and 15 ounces, while Escovedo weighed in at 108 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Oliver Williston, and the three ringside judges are Peter Ardis, Sam Powell and Blake Latta.  

Round 1:

The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Escovedo dabs at his face checking for damage.    That accidental headbutt has resulted in some damage to Escovedo.  That has caused a slight cut above the right eye.  .  
Wight tries to keep the action at long range and tries to land a jab, but Escovedo slips the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Escovedo steps inside and manouvers his opponent into a corner.  Wight digs in a sharp left hook to his opponents liver.

Wight switches the action to the outside.  Escovedo sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a cross.  
Wight lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Wight tries to step out of his opponents range and finds the target with a jab.

Escovedo gets on the inside.  Wight senses a stoppage victory - he just needs the right shot.  Wight lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  He follows up the attack and lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head, AND ESCOVEDO IS DOWN!  He manages to get up at 4.  
Escovedo forces Wight to retreat onto the ropes.  Wight lands a right hook followed by  two left hooks to his opponents head, AND SENDS ESCOVEDO SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  He tries to rise on shaky legs but Escovedo cant beat the count!  The winner by KO is Wight!
