Nicholas Caruthers vs Jack McBride

Boxing Daily Report from the Zulu Promotions promoted show at Vincent McCorquodale Gym, Virginia Beach,  taking place on 06/01/2036:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the USA-Virginia Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Nicholas Caruthers (13(9) - 3 - 1) who hails from Norfolk, USA and Jack McBride(12 - 16(5) - 1) from Norfolk, USA.  Both Caruthers and McBride weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Ewan Farris, and the three ringside judges are Hugh Cassidy, Sam Malcomson and Dan Whalen.  

Round 1: 

McBride leans back on the ropes...he waves his opponent in!  Caruthers accepts the invitation, throwing powerful combos, but is unable to land anything on McBride.  
Caruthers lands a left uppercut.  
Caruthers lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  Caruthers ties up his opponent.  Caruthers is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. Caruthers is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Caruthers about fouling.  
Caruthers pivots to the left of his opponent and lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Caruthers sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Caruthers lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Caruthers lands a cross followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Caruthers gets on the inside and lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Caruthers sidesteps to the left of his opponent and digs in a right hook to McBride's body.  
Caruthers lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Caruthers is looking to keep the action on the outside and hits home with a solid cross.  
McBride steps inside.  Caruthers lands a firm left uppercut.  
Caruthers finds the target with a jab.  
Caruthers lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body, AND KNOCKS MCBRIDE DOWN!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 4.  McBride almost instantly recovers. 
Caruthers pivots to the right of his opponent and drives a forceful left hook into his opponents body.  MCBRIDE WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  McBride recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Caruthers is looking to keep his distance and lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Caruthers advances into close range.  Caruthers sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  McBride lands a left hook.  
Caruthers drives a right hook into his opponents body.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...McBride's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.  McBride's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  McBride's trainer is telling his fighter to tighten his defence.

Caruthers switches the action to the outside and lands with a ramrod jab.  
McBride tries to land a right hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a sharp left hook to McBride's body.  
Caruthers lands two right hook's to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Caruthers drives a sharp right hook into McBride's body.  
Caruthers tries to keep the action at long range and is on target with a jab.  
McBride gets on the inside.  Caruthers lands a left hook to the body followed by two left uppercut's to the head, AND DOWN GOES MCBRIDE!  He is back up on his feet at 5.  
Caruthers is looking to put the pressure on now...he knows a few clean shots could mean an early night.  Caruthers lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  He continues the combination and lands a cross followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head, AND MCBRIDE IS DOWN!  He remains on the canvas as the count reaches 10!  The winner by KO is Caruthers!
