Mark Devlin vs David Murdy

Boxing Daily Report from the Knoetze Promotions promoted show at Perth Whitestone, Perth,  taking place on 18/01/2036:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the Australia-Western Australia Super Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Mark Devlin (4(4) - 0 - 1) who hails from Perth, Australia and David Murdy(15(1) - 13(7)) from Perth, Australia.  Devlin weighed in at 168 pounds, while Murdy weighed in at 167 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Chris Dorward, and the three ringside judges are Paul MacNab, Vince Kelty and Fraser Trimble.  

Round 1: 

Murdy quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and is on target with a right hook to Devlin's ribs.  
Devlin tries to step out of his opponents range and hits home with a firm overhand left.  
Devlin tries to land a right uppercut, but Murdy sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Murdy steps inside and is on target with a left hook.

Murdy steps inside and walks Devlin onto the ropes.  Murdy tries to land a left uppercut, but Devlin blocks the shot and counters with a solid right hook.  
Murdy steps away from his opponent and lands an overhand right followed by a cross to his opponents head.  
Murdy closes the distance and tries to land a left hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right hook.  
Devlin drives a firm left hook into Murdy's body.  
Murdy advances into close range and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.

Murdy pivots to the side of his opponent.  Murdy attempts to land a right hook, but Devlin parries the shot and counters with a stinging right hook.  
Devlin quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Murdy lands a stiff jab.  Murdy attempts to land a jab, but Devlin slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut to Murdy's ribs.  
Murdy closes the distance and walks Devlin down, trapping him on the ropes.  Devlin crashes a big right hook to Murdy's body.  MURDY IS HURT!  Murdy recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Murdy advances into close range.  Devlin throws a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Murdy is looking to close the distance.  Devlin lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  Devlin ties up his opponent.  Murdy is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee warns Murdy and breaks the clinch.  Murdy almost instantly gets his legs back. 
Murdy advances into close range.  Devlin quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Murdy throws a right uppercut, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a hurtful left hook.  MURDY IS HURT!  Murdy quickly recovers. 
Murdy pivots to the right of his opponent.  Murdy hits home with a right hook.  Devlin ties up his opponent.  Devlin pushes his forearm into Murdy's face.  The ref breaks Devlin's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Devlin throws a left hook, but is off-target.  Devlin holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Devlin pushes his forearm into Murdy's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Murdy finds the target with a ramrod jab.  Murdy attempts to land a jab, but Devlin dodges the shot and counters with a sharp left uppercut.  
Devlin sidesteps to the left of his opponent and finds the target with a jab.  
Murdy gets on the inside and drives a right hook into his opponents ribs.  
Murdy manages to force Devlin into the red corner.  Devlin lands a jab followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Murdy closes the distance.  Devlin whips in a spiteful right uppercut to Murdy's body.  MURDY WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  
Devlin senses Murdy is in trouble...he is looking to finish him off!  Devlin lands consecutive right uppercuts to his opponents body, AND DOWN GOES MURDY!  He is back up on his feet at 4.  It looks like Murdy has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.  
Murdy lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Devlin lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Devlin closes the distance.  Murdy hits home with a right uppercut.

Murdy gets on the inside.  Devlin is on target with a firm left hook to Murdy's body.  
Devlin tries to keep the action at long range.  Murdy could be stopped here, if Devlin can find the right shot!  Devlin connects with a FEARSOME left hook.  MURDY IS SENT SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  HE UNSTEADILY TRIES TO GET UP BUT IS UNABLE TO BEAT THE 10 COUNT!  The winner by KO is Devlin!
