Paul Couden vs Ian McGrath

Boxing Daily Report from the Nkansah Promotions promoted show at Geoff Petrie Gym, Independence,  taking place on 04/10/2037:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the USA-Missouri Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Paul Couden (11 - 21 - 5) who hails from St. Louis, USA and Ian McGrath(23(12) - 0) from Independence, USA.  Couden weighed in at 134 pounds and 9 ounces, while McGrath weighed in at 135 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Antwan Dougherty, and the three ringside judges are Lucas Geddie, Dom Quinn and William Harkins.  

Round 1: 

McGrath is looking to close the distance and lands two right hooks to the body, and one to the head.  
Couden throws a left hook, but McGrath holds on to his opponent.  McGrath pushes his forearm into Couden's face.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
McGrath is looking to keep the action on the outside.  McGrath sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a cross.  
McGrath feints a right hook, and then hits home with a solid left hook.  
McGrath sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  McGrath lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  McGrath holds on to his opponent.  Couden pushes his forearm into McGrath's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Couden about fouling.  
McGrath switches the action to the outside.  McGrath feints a right hook, and then is on target with a solid cross.  
McGrath lands a cross.  McGrath tries to land a left hook, but Couden blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Couden closes the distance.  McGrath lands a left hook.  McGrath ties up his opponent.  The ref breaks McGrath's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Couden manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  McGrath drives a left hook into his opponents ribs.  
McGrath steps inside.  McGrath pivots to the side of his opponent and is on target with a left hook to Couden's liver.  
Couden throws a right hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a sharp left hook.  
Couden attempts to land a jab, but McGrath dodges the shot and counters with a firm left hook to his opponents ribs.  
McGrath steps inside and manouvers Couden into a corner.  McGrath lands a right uppercut to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
McGrath lands a right hook to the body followed by a right uppercut to the head.  
McGrath lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
McGrath sidesteps to the left of his opponent and drives a right hook into Couden's body.  
McGrath digs in a right hook to his opponents body.  
McGrath hits home with a cross.  
McGrath gets on the inside and lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  McGrath ties up his opponent.  McGrath pushes his forearm into Couden's face.  The ref breaks McGrath's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
McGrath gets on the inside and cuts off the ring, trapping Couden on the ropes.  McGrath drives a right uppercut into Couden's body.  
McGrath pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a left uppercut to the head, a left hook to the body and a right hook to the head.  
McGrath advances into close range and cuts off the ring, trapping Couden in a corner.  McGrath drives a right hook into his opponents body.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Couden's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Couden's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.  Couden's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Couden's trainer is advising how he could improve his defence.

Round 2: 

McGrath lands a jab, cross and a jab to his opponents head.  
McGrath gets on the inside and walks Couden onto the ropes.  McGrath lands a right uppercut to the body, a left hook to the body and a right uppercut to the head.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  
McGrath knows it could take just a few clean shots to force the stoppage.  McGrath lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  He continues the combination and lands three consecutive left uppercuts to his opponents body, AND COUDEN IS KNOCKED DOWN!  He manages to get up at 4.  
McGrath lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  He continues the combination and lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body, AND COUDEN IS KNOCKED DOWN!  He beats the count, getting up at 5.  Couden now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.  
Couden closes the distance.  McGrath lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head, AND SENDS COUDEN SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  The ref waves off the fight.  He does not believe Couden can continue!  The fight has been stopped!  The winner by TKO is McGrath!
