Fanuco Calix vs Angel Cura

Boxing Daily Report from the North Star Boxing promoted show at Ginásio do Pacaembu, Sao Paulo,  taking place on 04/12/2037:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Fanuco Calix (13(10) - 0) who hails from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and Angel Cura(12 - 3) from Sao Goncalo, Brazil.  Calix weighed in at 243 pounds And 10 ounces, while Cura weighed in at 229 pounds And 9 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Vicente DaVilla, and the three ringside judges are Alfonso Solomon, Nasario Couto and Xabat Mar.  

Round 1: 

Calix closes the distance.  Cura pivots to the right of his opponent andAs the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Calix dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Calix forces Cura to retreat into the blue corner.  Calix connects with a right uppercut.  Calix holds on to his opponent.  Calix throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. 
Calix lands a right hook to the head, a right hook to the body and a left hook to the head.  
Calix pivots to the left of his opponent.  Calix lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  Calix clinches his opponent.  Calix pushes his forearm into Cura's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Calix about fouling.  
Cura throws a right hook, but Calix ties up his opponent.  Calix is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Calix forces Cura to back into the red corner.  Calix hits home with a left uppercut.  
Calix sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a right hook to the body, a left uppercut to the head and a left uppercut to the body.  
Calix is on target with a firm left uppercut.  Calix holds on to his opponent.  Calix uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Cura behind the head. The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Calix about fouling.

Calix is looking to close the distance and manouvers his opponent into a corner.  Calix lands three consecutive left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Calix lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.

Cura is looking to keep his distance.  Calix connects with a cross.  
Calix lands a cross followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.

Calix lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  Calix clinches his opponent.  Calix leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Calix lands a left hook to the head followed by two right hook's to the body.  
Calix lands a right hook to the body followed by a left uppercut to the head.  He then lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  Calix clinches his opponent.  Calix is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The referee breaks the clinch and warns Calix to stop holding.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Cura's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Cura's trainer is advising how he could improve his defence.

Calix sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Calix drives a firm right hook into Cura's ribs.  CURA IS HURT!  Calix clinches his opponent.  Calix pushes his forearm into Cura's face.  The referee warns Calix and breaks the clinch.  Cura almost instantly recovers.

Calix senses his opponent is hurt.  He is looking to stop Cura and just needs the right shot.  Calix lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head, AND DROPS CURA!  He beats the count, getting up at 5.  Cura now seems to have got his legs back.  
Calix lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  Calix ties up his opponent.  Calix leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The referee breaks the clinch and warns Calix to stop holding.  
Cura steps to the outside.  Cura circles his opponent with a low guard, waiting for his opponent to attack.  Calix snaps his opponents head back with a hard jab.  
Calix advances into close range and lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  
Cura tries to step out of his opponents range.  Calix lands a spiteful jab.

Calix attempts to land a left hook, but Cura blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.

Calix knows Cura is hurt...he is putting the pressure on now, looking for the stoppage.  Calix whips in a mean right uppercut to Cura's body.  CURA HAS BEEN KNOCKED DOWN!  THE COUNT REACHES 10, BUT CURA IS UNABLE TO GET UP!  The winner by KO is Calix!
