John Shirah vs Mel Porter

Boxing Daily Report from the yahir promoted show at Kansas City Sunderlin, Kansas City,  taking place on 06/11/2037:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the USA-Missouri Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are John Shirah (13 - 17(3) - 2) who hails from Kansas City, USA and Mel Porter(10 - 13 - 2) from Kansas City, USA.  Shirah weighed in at 147 pounds, while Porter weighed in at 146 pounds and 15 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Phil Ekberg, and the three ringside judges are Mick Bihl, Phil Ekberg and Dan Hertz.  

Round 1: 

Shirah gets on the inside.  Porter sidesteps to the right of his opponent and hits home with a right hook.  
Porter pivots to the right of his opponent.  Shirah lands a cross to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Shirah closes the distance.  Porter digs in a left hook to Shirah's liver.  
Shirah feints a cross, and then attempts to land a jab, but Porter slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Shirah connects with a right hook.  
Porter hits home with a right uppercut.  
Shirah connects with a left hook.  
Porter throws a left uppercut, but misses the target.  Porter clinches his opponent.  Porter pushes his forearm into Shirah's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Porter about fouling.  
Shirah pivots to the left of his opponent and hits home with a right uppercut.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Shirah's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.
