Ewan Kay vs Jonathan Lightbody

Boxing Daily Report from the Lionheart Promotions promoted show at Auckland Cumby, Auckland,  taking place on 31/12/2037:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the New Zealand-Auckland Super Featherweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Ewan Kay (14 - 18(5) - 6) who hails from Manukau, New Zealand and Jonathan Lightbody(23(2) - 19(9)) from North Shore, New Zealand.  Both Kay and Lightbody weighed in at 130 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Morgan Cleghorn, and the three ringside judges are Waraki Kawau, Hamahona Kurawhatia and Ian Brown.  

Round 1: 

Lightbody advances into close range.  As Kay tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Lightbody dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Lightbody lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Lightbody attempts to land an overhand right, but Kay sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Kay quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Lightbody lands a cross.  
Lightbody closes the distance and walks Kay down, trapping him in the corner.  Lightbody is on target with a right uppercut.  
Kay throws a jab, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Lightbody drives a right uppercut into Kay's ribcage.  
Lightbody lands two consecutive left uppercuts to his opponents head.  He follows up the attack and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Kay is on target with a jab.  
Lightbody is looking to close the distance and lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  
Kay tries to keep the action at long range and connects with an overhand left.  Kay tries to land a cross, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a left uppercut.

Lightbody gets on the inside and lands a left hook to the body, a left uppercut to the head and a left hook to the body.  
Lightbody lands a left uppercut to the head, a right hook to the body and a left hook to the body.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Kay's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Kay's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.
