Santiago Mallen vs Esteban Ortiz

Boxing Daily Report from the Quainoo Promotions promoted show at Rodrigo Cortinas Gym, San Luis Potosi,  taking place on 24/02/2038:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Mexico-San Luis Potosi Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Santiago Mallen (3 - 12(1) - 1) who hails from San Luis Potosi, Mexico and Esteban Ortiz(10 - 8(1) - 2) from San Luis Potosi, Mexico.  Both Mallen and Ortiz weighed in at 135 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Sierra Otero, and the three ringside judges are Ulises Fosco, Vicente Villalpando and Vegas Arguello.  

Round 1:

Ortiz steps inside.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.    It looks like the clash of heads has caused some damage to Ortiz.  That has caused swelling  around the left eye.  
Ortiz steps away from his opponent and lands an overhand right.  Ortiz tries to land a cross, but Mallen slips the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Ortiz gets on the inside and digs in a left hook to his opponents ribs.
