Quito Becerril vs Zafa Essa

Boxing Daily Report from the North Star Boxing promoted show at Estadio Antonio Maceo, Santiago de Cuba,  taking place on 22/05/2038:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Quito Becerril (19(12) - 1) who hails from Santiago de Cuba, Cuba and Zafa Essa(13 - 9(1) - 4) from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.  Both Becerril and Essa weighed in at 200 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Gabriel Arvelo, and the three ringside judges are Tajo Alaniz, Diego Vizcaino and Ponce Rojo.  

Round 1: 

Essa steps inside and manages to force Becerril onto the ropes.  Becerril digs in a firm left hook to his opponents body.  Becerril holds on to his opponent.  Becerril is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Becerril tries to keep the action at long range and lands an overhand left followed by a cross to his opponents head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  
Some sustained pressure from Becerril could be enough to finish Essa!  Becerril lands a cross, left hook and a right hook to his opponents head.  He continues the combination and lands a right uppercut, cross and a left uppercut to his opponents head, AND DOWN GOES ESSA!  He is back up on his feet at 6.  Essa now seems to have his senses back.  
Becerril quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and is on target with a stinging overhand right.  
Becerril feints a jab, fooling Essa into throwing a right hook counter.  Becerril avoids the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Essa sidesteps to the left of his opponent and connects with a cross.  
Becerril steps to the outside.  Becerril feints a left hook, and then lands with a ramrod jab.  
Becerril quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and is on target with a solid cross.  
Becerril tries to step out of his opponents range and lands a cross followed by  two jabs to his opponents head.  
Becerril lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Essa closes the distance and manouvers Becerril onto the ropes.  Essa throws a right uppercut, but Becerril holds on to his opponent.  Becerril is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref breaks Becerril's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Becerril is looking to keep his distance and lands with a hard jab.  
Becerril lands a jab.  
Becerril drives a sharp jab into his opponents face.  
Becerril is on target with a cross.  
Becerril lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Becerril steps to the outside and lands a cross to the body, and then to the head.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!

Becerril tries to step out of his opponents range and hits the target with a ramrod jab.  
Essa steps inside.  Becerril lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Becerril lands an overhand right followed by a cross to his opponents head.  
Becerril finds the target with a solid jab.  
Becerril switches the action to the outside and lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Becerril feints a left, and then lands a jab followed by  two overhand rights to his opponents head.  
Becerril lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Essa's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Essa's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.  Essa's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Essa's trainer is telling his fighter to tighten his defence.

Becerril is really starting to turn up the heat!  He senses a stoppage here.  Becerril DETONATES a HUGE cross on his opponents face.  ESSA IS SENT SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 5.  Essa now appears to have recovered from that earlier shot.  
Becerril lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  He then lands a jab to the body followed by a overhand left to the head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Essa quickly recovers. 
Becerril feints a left hook, and then lands a firm cross.  
Essa throws a cross, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Essa advances into close range and walks Becerril down, trapping him on the ropes.  Becerril lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  Becerril ties up his opponent.  Becerril leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Becerril lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Becerril lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  Becerril ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Becerril pushes his forearm into Essa's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Becerril about fouling.  Essa almost instantly recovers. 
Becerril is on target with a left hook to Essa's liver.  
Becerril steps to the outside.  Becerril feints a right hook, and then lands a jab followed by a overhand right to his opponents head.  
Becerril lands a cross to the head, a cross to the body and a jab to the head.  
Becerril is looking to keep his distance.  Becerril lowers his hands, trying to provoke his opponent to attack.  Essa tries to land a cross, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.  
Essa gets on the inside and forces Becerril to retreat onto the ropes.  Becerril lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head, KNOCKING ESSA DOWN!  He isnt going to beat the count!  The winner by KO is Becerril!
