Arnie Vicker vs Rob Protheroe

Boxing Daily Report from the Kiwi Promotions promoted show at Brett Cammon Gym, Wellington,  taking place on 28/03/2038:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the New Zealand-Wellington Light Heavyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Arnie Vicker (5 - 5(1) - 3) who hails from Wellington, New Zealand and Rob Protheroe(9(5) - 2 - 2) from Wellington, New Zealand.  Both Vicker and Protheroe weighed in at 175 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Glynn Morgan, and the three ringside judges are Barry Christeson, Mel Binner and Keka Paratene.  

Round 1: 

Protheroe is looking to close the distance and drives a solid left hook into Vicker's body.  
Protheroe throws a left hook, but is unable to get through his opponents guard.  Protheroe ties up his opponent.  Protheroe leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks Protheroe's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Vicker is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Protheroe hits home with a firm cross.  
Protheroe gets on the inside and digs in a right hook to his opponents ribs.  Protheroe clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Protheroe pushes his forearm into Vicker's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Protheroe about fouling.  
Protheroe throws a right hook, but the shot lands on his opponents guard.  Protheroe holds on to his opponent.  Protheroe leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Protheroe digs in a left uppercut to his opponents ribs.  Protheroe holds on to his opponent.  Protheroe is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks Protheroe's hold and signals for the fight to continue.

Protheroe lands a left uppercut to the body, a right hook to the head and a left hook to the body.  
Vicker steps to the outside.  Protheroe lands a sharp cross.

Protheroe sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Protheroe forces Vicker to retreat onto the ropes.  Protheroe is on target with a right uppercut to Vicker's body.  Protheroe ties up his opponent.  Protheroe leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks Protheroe's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Protheroe closes the distance and lands a left uppercut followed by  two left hooks to his opponents body.  
Protheroe gets on the inside.  Vicker throws a left hook, but Protheroe clinches his opponent.  Protheroe leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Protheroe forces Vicker to back into the red corner.  Protheroe lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Protheroe lands a left uppercut, right hook and a left hook to his opponents body.  
Protheroe is on target with a sharp left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Protheroe is on target with a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Protheroe lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Protheroe walks Vicker down, trapping him in the corner.  Protheroe lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Protheroe drives a firm right hook into his opponents body.  Protheroe clinches his opponent.  Protheroe uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Vicker behind the head. 
Protheroe is on target with a right hook to Vicker's body.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Vicker's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Vicker's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.  Vicker's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

Protheroe lands a left hook, right uppercut and a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Protheroe is looking to close the distance and is on target with a left hook to his opponents body.  
Protheroe closes the distance.  Vicker pivots from in front of his opponent.  Vicker throws a left hook, but Protheroe ties up his opponent.  Protheroe is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The referee breaks the clinch and warns Protheroe to stop holding.  
Protheroe connects with a left hook.  
Protheroe walks his opponent into the red corner.  Protheroe feints a jab, and then lands a cross to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  
Protheroe closes the distance.  Protheroe is looking for the shot to finish his opponent.  Protheroe drives a telling left uppercut into his opponents body.  VICKER IS SENT SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 5.  
Protheroe lands a left hook, right uppercut and a right hook to his opponents body, AND KNOCKS VICKER DOWN!  He is back up on his feet at 6.  It looks like Vicker has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.  
Protheroe closes the distance and lands a right hook to the body followed by a left uppercut to the head.  
Protheroe lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Protheroe is on target with a right hook to Vicker's ribcage.  
Protheroe digs in a right hook to his opponents body.  
Protheroe lands three consecutive right uppercuts to his opponents body.  
Protheroe lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Protheroe whips in a DEVASTATING left uppercut to Vicker's body.  VICKER HAS BEEN KNOCKED DOWN!  THE REF IMMEDIATELY WAVES OFF THE FIGHT...HE'S SEEN ENOUGH!  The fight has been stopped!  The winner by TKO is Protheroe!
